Overview of Setting Guidelines

Welcome to Honarth, a unique and intriguing RPG setting with a rich history, diverse cultures, and advanced technology. As a Game Master, it is important to understand the various setting guidelines that shape the world of Honarth, and how they can be used to create engaging and dynamic campaigns for your players. In this article, we will provide an overview of each of the setting guidelines, highlighting the key points and implications for your games. You can read more on each one by visiting their respective detailed articles.

Setting Guidelines

Human & Cadonian Relations

In Honarth, there are two sentient species: Humans and Cadonians. Humans were the first to appear on the planet and originated from the Sea of Life, while Cadonians appeared around 12,000 years later. The origins of both species remain a mystery as there appears to be no direct genealogical connection, but there are vast genetic similarities between them. Both species share the same culture and societal traits and there is no segregation of species. Inter-species romantic relationships are normal and accepted, but there is no inter-species reproduction. This means that players can choose to play as either species, but it will not affect their interactions with the rest of the world, as both species coexist peacefully.

Energy & Fusion

The issue of energy and electricity has been solved since ancient times in Honarth and is self-sustainable, self-maintaining, and environmentally friendly. As such, players will not have to worry about power supply and the production of electricity is not an issue for the inhabitants of Honarth.

Military & Security

Honarth does not have a traditional military organization. Instead, there are private arms companies and private arms contractors, as well as public entities such as police and tactical teams. This provides a unique challenge for players looking to engage in combat, as they will need to rely on their own abilities and resources.

Space Travel & Extraterrestrial Life

Honarth is a closed planet, with no space travel allowed and no alien species present. This means that players will not encounter any extraterrestrial creatures or races in their adventures.

Super Void

Honarth exists in a super void called The Great Barrier, which means there is no space debris such as asteroids or comets. This also means that there is no danger of meteor impacts or other space-related hazards.

Magic & Divine Intervention

Magic and divine powers are not present in Honarth, as it is a sci-fi setting. However, some tribes in Honarth believe in gods and have temples and monasteries, leaving open the possibility for innate metaphysical powers for characters.

Conclusion

The setting guidelines of Honarth provide unique challenges and opportunities for players and Game Masters alike. By understanding the constraints of the world, you can create dynamic and engaging campaigns that push players to think creatively and rely on their own abilities. Whether it's navigating the criminal underworld, working with corporations, or facing off against other players, Honarth provides a wealth of possibilities for your games.
