Tendril

Tendrils are the officers, managers, overseers, priests, and bureaucrats of the Dohobeb Priest-State. They are the Dohobeban managerial caste, who control the basic flow of resources and enjoy a finer standard of living. Tendrils are chosen from among the commonfolk - on a basis of merit, if the system works as legally prescribed - and are typically assigned to a role in either the Military or Civilian chains of command.   Tendrils of significance are known as 'Favored Tendrils' and are often appointed as the overseers of lesser Tendril chains of command. These Favored Tendrils sit at the very top of the caste and are arguably the richest and most powerful people in Dohobeban society. Lesser Tendrils are often far less impressive and tend to be either petty army officers or bureaucrats.   Each Tendril is invited into Kailopali, the holy mountain of the Great God Kailio, to be initiated. Some priestly classes are even invited to view or interact with the Great Otter, though they must become Heartwards (the governing caste) to attend or speak with the Otter more directly.
