Evelyn

Evelyn LeRoi (a.k.a. Eve, Eva)

A nephilim with an affinity for the soul. She works as an advisor for one of the Trans-Atlantic's largest struts. She lives a double identity, hiding her nephilic nature behind opaque red sunglasses. A sly planner and tactician, Evelyn tends to be one step ahead of the competition. Even her few peers have trouble keeping up, but she doesn't find the matter to be one worth addressing. Her full attention is on the Trans-Atlantic, considering all that reside upon it to be her responsibility and burden.

Personal history

At a young age, before becoming entangled in the Trans-Atlantic's political web, Evelyn was a relatively carefree girl. She lived a privileged life in the residence of two Franco entrepreneurs who played a major roll in planning the bridge's infrastructure, and therefore had high standing both socially and financially. She didn't care to flaunt her status, though, often shaking off her own bodyguards to mix and mingle with the residents of the lower strut segments. It was during one of these excursions that she first met Ferris.   After her initial encounter with Ferris and the chaotic events that followed, something changed within her. Having never met another nephilim before him, all she could think of is the state that she had found him in, and wondered if this was the standard for her kind; either blend in with the masses or be forced out onto the street, forced to cling onto whatever vice keeps you afloat. This prompted her to do some research into the nephilim to better understand their history and abilities. In this period, during which she also shied away from the public eye, Evelyn also inexplicably rose through the echelons of her family business, King's Collective. Still not content, however, she eventually penetrated into regional affairs with an advisor role for her home strut.   Soon after she obtained her prestigious role, she was approached by a prominent scientist from a rivaling business. He claimed to know of her nephilic nature despite attempts to hide it and proposed a collaboration. In an act of confidence and trust, he revealed that he, too, was a nephilim, with an affinity for the body. Aston Revell was his name, and he theorized that the two's affinities working in tandem could produce unheard-of bounds in the scientific and medical fields...

History

Early in his life, Ferris was but a hermit with a sword. He took up contract work to keep himself fed, but was barely scraping by. It wasn't until Evelyn stumbled upon the boy slumped outside of a nearby bar. Even without taking notice of his nephilic nature, she could sense something unique about the swordsman.   After a bit of prodding and tired resistance, she convinced him to accompany her in one of her occasional evening haunts. Having been supported by her family's wealth and influence at the time, Evelyn had more than enough free time to fool around. She brought him along to her favorite locales of the strut; a concert hall that played free nighttime shows, a beautiful seaside gazebo, and a number of other experiences that culminated in a fateful visit to her favorite bar.   Evelyn has many talents, but holding her liquor has never been one of them. After one too many glasses of sherry, an altercation occurs between her and a few of the other patrons. Snide remarks turn to agitated shouting which quickly turns into threats of violence. Soon, Evelyn seemed to have the entire bar at her throat. Suddenly, though, Ferris steps between her and the raging crowd, pointing his sheathed blade at the mass as if to say "Come try your luck".
