Nephilim
A hybrid of angel and human, created from the union of the two species' infant souls. There are very few nephilim, scattered across the globe due to the nature of their birth. The appearance and temperament of these nephilim are connected to the circumstances of their birth, borne of an angel with either a corrupted or pure heart. Nevertheless, something compels them to cross paths, and the clash of their immense power has the potential for mass destruction.

Anatomy
Nephilim are fundamentally identical to humans in most ways, with some key differences in their more subtle features. Depending on the nephilim's origin, they can either have void-black eyes with thin, glowing irises or otherwise normal eyes with two thick limbal rings. Other differentiating factors include a taller average height at 6'2, faster hair & nail growth, and sharper canines, though the more bestial elements only come about in demonic nephilim.
Genetics and Reproduction
As with angels, nephilim cannot produce. Demonic nephilim are rendered infertile at birth, while angelic nephilim lack any kind of genitalia entirely.
Growth Rate & Stages
A nephilim's life begins with the union of an infant human's soul and an angel's core; any later in development and the core would be rejected. The idea behind the union is essentially that the human's soul acts as a second engine for the body, or a processor. Since bodies get weaker as the soul fades in intensity, having double the souls essentially double's the nephilim's lifespan. Thus, their distinct periods in life last much longer than most others'.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Nephilim's eyes hold the ability to peer between the gaps of reality into a realm that would blind the average human. Otherwise, demonic nephilim possess enhanced senses of sound and sight, as their predecessors were more concerned about their survival than the angels with their kin.

Conservation Status
The Trans-Atlanta is the sole territory that recognizes nephilim as a separate species from humans, and grants them special protection under the law. This act was pushed for by Strut Advisor Evelyn Leroi, secretly meant to draw in a bulk of nephilim to the bridge and keep them there; observable and predictable. Part of this protection act is implementing severe consequences for harming nephilim, including extended jail-time for even negligible bodily harm.
