Affront No. 1 - The Trans-Atla

A colossal bridge left as a relic by the angels of old, retrofitted into a contiguous cityscape that spans across the Atlan Ocean. It has sheltered humanity in times of ruin and continues to be a pillar in contemporary society. The first of the Seven Affronts, it was erected when the fallen angels were first bound to the soil. Needing a way to reconvene and spread themselves out among the world, the bridge was built in a collaborative effort between each angel to bind the continents together.

Geography

The main neck of the bridge has a 3-layered structure; the middle and main stretch used for transportation, the bottom for compact basic electrical infrastructure, and the top for VIPs, government-sanctioned transport, and executive buildings. There are docks along the side of the bridge every few dozen miles in which a hydraulics system elevates incoming boats to its underside; underutilized for decades due to the ban on boat travel. Between docks, there are "struts" stemming from the main neck of the bridge which holds a majority of the bridge's human population. These struts are broken into four categories: Agricultural, Business, Domestic, and Utility. Struts tend to combine these categories in several ways, but one must act as its priority. There is a relative balance between the struts, and priority is determined by distance from the land. The bridge itself is made by an iron-like substance called demonite that's found at the bottom of the ocean; subject of many utility strut's works. Unlike similar overseas structures, the bridge is not kept suspended through buoyancy. Instead, its thick supports extend all the way to the ocean floor, undoubtedly through methods beyond human possibility. To avoid high-tide, the supports bring the main decks of the bridge about 60 feet above sea level.   Due to its size, there is a substantial curve to the bridge. Because of this, most of the infrastructure is built suspended above and to the side of the bridge's surface. These add-ons have foundations of more conventional materials such as steel and concrete. As a result, strict weight limits are imposed on all cities along the Trans-Atla.   Agricultural struts are always positioned at the upper levels of the bridge to provide optimal sunlight for the crops. Business struts also tend to be positioned near the top of the bridge, though this is not always the case. Longer and taller buildings can also connect to the main neck of the bridge for additional support.

Fauna & Flora

Little natural flora can grow on the bridge, besides a small variety of moss and weeds. Agricultural struts cultivate a variety of seasonal crops en masse, stationed indoors with LED lighting. Different struts prioritize different flora and are constructed differently to suit them. Independent agriculture and gardening is also encouraged, each living area required to allow for at least a small garden. Ranching is also present, but much more of a rarity. Rations are placed on how many animals can be slaughtered per week, and only massive celebrations allow for large scale distribution of meat. Obviously, the most prevalent source of protein comes from fish. One must have a license to fish on the bridge, though.

Natural Resources

Strangely enough, clusters of loose demonite can be found growing along the lower legs of the bridge. Despite numerous harvests, the clusters show no sign of degradation or dwindling. It has been proposed that demonite, and by extension, the Trans-Atla, has a biological component implanted by the angels to allow its usage in the far future.
