Cabrycg

Cabrycg, a city forged in the crucible of war and strife, stands as the heart of orcish strength and resilience. Situated in Southeast, Cabrycg is a city of stone and steel, where the flames of the forge burn day and night. It is a place where the strong thrive, and only the most capable lead. The city bears the scars of countless battles, both external and internal, as the orcs constantly test their mettle against one another and their enemies.

Demographics

Cabrycg is predominantly orcish, with a small population of goblins, ogres, and other allied or subjugated races. The orcs are the ruling class, while the other races serve in various capacities, from laborers to warriors.

Government

Cabrycg is ruled by a Warchief, who is the strongest and most cunning warrior in the city. The Warchief is advised by a council of clan leaders, each representing one of the major orc clans. These leaders are constantly vying for power, and the position of Warchief is often won through combat. The current Warchief is Grogar, a ruthless and ambitious leader who seeks to expand Cabryc’s influence across the continent.

Industry & Trade

Cabrycg’s economy is built on war. The city thrives on the spoils of conquest, and its primary industries are weapon forging, armor crafting, and the training of warriors. The Raider’s Market serves as the trade hub, where captured goods are exchanged for resources that cannot be produced locally.

Districts

  • The Stronghold: The central district, home to the ruling elite and the city’s military forces. It is heavily fortified, with barracks, armories, and the Warcaller’s Arena.
  • The Forge Quarter: Where blacksmiths, metalworkers, and artisans reside. The clanging of hammers and the roar of furnaces fill this district, as weapons of war are crafted day and night.
  • The Warrens: The living quarters for the common orcs. This district is a maze of crude stone buildings and narrow alleys, where the orcish populace lives in close quarters. Despite the harsh conditions, a strong sense of community binds the inhabitants.
  • The Raider’s Market: A bustling market where the spoils of war are traded. Everything from weapons and armor to exotic goods looted from distant lands can be found here. The market is also a hub for mercenaries and raiding parties seeking employment.

History

Cabrycg was founded centuries ago by the legendary orc chieftain Moruk, who united the warring orc tribes under a single banner. Moruk, a fierce warrior and cunning strategist, chose the site for its strategic position, nestled in the mountains and protected by natural fortifications. Over the years, Cabrycg has grown into a powerful city-state, known for its warriors and its war machines. The city has a long history of conflict with its neighbors, particularly the elves of Llanfyl and the human cities to the west, such as Hacuito. The orcs of Cabrycg see themselves as the rightful rulers of the land, and they have waged numerous campaigns to expand their territory.
