The Celestial Conclave

(The contents of this page, apart from the fact that it exists are NOT common knowledge)
The Celestial Conclave will not hide in this face of challenge. We look forward to renewing our courage and purpose once more.
— The Judge

Introduction

The Celestial Conclave is commonly called “The Heavens”. It is the highest plane on the World Tree, located at its peak. Where Celestials, the primary doers of inter-planar creation, live. Angelic choirs, golden palaces, sunny skies, and clouds replacing the ground are the most prominent features of the conclave. Typically concerned with preserving order and "good," no matter the cost, the Celestials make great allies and even worse enemies. Most, bar a select few, originate from this plane. The plane itself is controlled by the Celestial Princes and is very similar to the Elemental Plane of Air, simply being an open sky save for having large floating islands. It is composed of five parts, the first is the Conclave, the place where most Demi-Celestials or Celestials who arent in different planes go about normal life. The next is Law’s Gaze, home to the self-proclaimed ruler of the Celestial Conclave. It is here the Lawbringer sees everything in the Conclave and the Demi-Celestial creations. After that is the Winged Garden, overseen by Trieda. It is a series of large floating islands composed of flora and wildlife. Thirdly, is the Truth Holder, overseen by Phalarsm. It is another floating island, akin to a dome and contains history, secrets, Truths and knowledge. The last is the Stasis Chamber, here Parabos strings up Foresaken and the worst of Empyreans to sit in 'stasis' for eons, a fate considered worse than death.

The Crowned Princes

The Celestial Princes have often been a strange prospect amongst Empyreans. By definition, there are only Three Celestial Princes: Parabos, Treida, and Phalsarm. However, some more virtuous Empyreans also like to contain the grand accomplishments of the Lesser Celestial Princes of time. As of concurrent there are 3: Dreidam, Belador, and Sephradoir. These are Greater Celestial Beings on par with that of the Princes, whom have had sway over the affairs of Parabos and the multitude of other Celestials, however, they have not been alive since the beginnings such as the main Three.

The Lawbringer

Among the Three Celestial Princes, Parabos is the self-proclaimed leader, his form is the first the Creator Dragon made. As such he is a neurotic with control and wants control over everything including the other Princes at times. With his eyes, he spies on all that happens within the Celestial Conclave and what Demi-Celestials are doing. This has placed him at odds with Treida and Phalarsm, his siblings. The latter keeps his older brother in check with his knowledge ensuring that the moment Parabos makes a mistake he can rally Treida and rebel.

The Courts of Order

The Courts of Order are where Demi-Celestials meet on momentous occasions, whether they be good or bad. It is here that large decisions are made that define the relationship between Parabos, Trieda, Phalarsm, Dreidam, Belador, and Sephradoir.

Geography

The Conclave

The Conclave is the general place where most Empyreans and Celestials who arent in different planes go about normal life. It is a group of floating islands that carry the necessities of a normal city from shelter to commerce places. The buildings are made of marble, quartz and wood while some of the roads are paved in gold instead of the usual stone.

Law’s Gaze

At the highest edge of the Celestial Conclave, bordering the inky black void that exists between planes is Law’s Gaze, home to Parabos the Supreme Prince. It is here that the Wheel of Eyes One Thousand Ages Tall sends out his gears and rings with eyes to see all of the Celestial Conclave. Law’s Gaze itself is a greek styled palace that sits on a solitary island. Exiting and entering its many entrances are Parabos’ gears, heading out to watch the populace as one of his many eyes.

The Winged Garden

The lowest islands of the Celestial Conclave compose the Winged Garden. Despite their alleviation, it is still fat above the border with the void. They are a series of interconnected islands whose sole purpose is to hold the fauna and flora of Trerida’s creation. They have several different climates and are neatly organized to prevent any biological situations. Some islands even have mountains for the specific kind of terrain they give. One island is made specifically for Celestial Incubators, the objects created by Prodigies to further create Drakofrys. From there they awaken and are trained in the ways of combat and Celestial law.

Truth Holder

Along the same elevation as the general Conclave is the Truth Holder, Phalarsm’s abode and the only real library amongst the entire plane. Amongst this collection of islands, the Three-Head Dragon creates Truths and stores the truths of the universe, knowledge. Each island has on it a single library with a kind of book, from those that teach Truths to the journals of dead soldiers. Part of Truth Holder is akin to a college, with teaching facilities and places for experimentations. In these locations, Truthseekers are taught. Truthseekers is a shorthand for Demi-Celestials who hold a portion of Celestial grace within them.

Stasis Chamber

Just beneath Law’s Gaze and off to the side is the stasis chamber. A golden dome bigger on the inside than the outside. Inside is a horror and fate worse than death considered by most Demi-Celestials: stasis. It is here that Parabos collects Forsaken and the worst of Empyreans to sit in Divine Stasis for eons. The numerous beings stand with their eyes shut in sort of pods on gigantic shelves. The Lawbringer considers it a necessary act, to break his laws and thus receive punishment. Generally, this is to be avoided at all cost since ever since the last Daemonic War Empyreans have been extremely understaffed. With the slow reproduction rate of their sub-race, alongside the need to strategically staff a multitude of different webways across different planes, it has become common for there to be expeditions which are staffed to fail from the start to allow more troops to be placed in a different battlefield.

Localized Phenomena

Climate

The climate of the Celestial Conclave follows a strict schedule and rotates through, Sunny & Clear, Windy, Overcast, Rainy, Strom, Fog and then back to it being clear monthly. The only exception to this is it snows around Yule time.

The Presence

Over the entirety of the Celestial Conclave, the Supreme Prince Parabos' gears gaze amongst the inhabitants. Helping in his mission to instate a severe amount of control over all of the inhabitants of the plane he watches. This “Presence” as it has come to be called is akin to the same loom which all Demi-Celestials suffer to ensure they abide by tenants. Treida and Phalarsm both agree and disagree with the amount of control their older brother carries as it has granted a great amount of peace but has driven him further insane or has fed into a further need for control.

Materials

The Celestials have no need to manually gather resources when they can find one among their number to simply conjure up what is needed.

Fauna & Flora

Flora

There are special kinds of celestial plant life but more impressively in the Winged Garden, there is flora from across the planes that sit among the many islands.

Inhabitants

The inhabitants of the Celestial Conclave are of course Celestials but also Demi-Celestials. Full Celestials tend to vary in appearance but usually have a humanoid body. In the Winged Garden, there is fauna from across the planes that sit among the many islands. Some Celestials are:   Empyreans
Empyreans, the spawn of celestials, are a race of people like no other. With perfect skin, unmarred by pox or ravaged by time even into their elderhood, and a glowing, golden halo hanging behind their head, an Empyrean is unmistakable from the moment it is born until the moment its soul leaves its body and its halo departs.   Drakofrys, Brightscales
Brightscales are a weapon, created by the celestials in their long-past war with the demons. At one point they were mindless automatons, created as a powerful counterpoint to the endless hordes of demonic monstrosities which they faced, and in this duty they performed very well, destroying many demons and making their creators proud. However, when the war came to a halt, the celestials faced a problem, for they could not destroy.   Forsaken
Technically not an inhabitant as all Forsaken within the Celestial Conclave end up in the Stasis Chamber but still an "inhabitant". The Forsaken are Empyreans stripped of their immortality and divine features as a cost to breaking one of the Seven Tenants and been caught.   Prodigies
Prodigies or “Thavmaen” are one step closer to being celestials than Empyreans. While they have many of the same physical qualities, a Prodigy always has an almost divine, golden glow in its eyes, and it is possessed of a Purpose, which defines its life.   Truthseekers
The Imithos, or Truthseekers, are a type of Demi-Celestial who are gifted with the ability to, through study and learning, glimpse a portion of the magic of celestials themselves. Though they do not have the power of the celestials themselves, and so they age rapidly when using these abilities as any other mortals do,   Bell Fairy
Nobody is quite sure where the Bell Fairies came from originally, and they’re so elusive that nobody has been able to nail down their life cycle. They are anywhere from ten inches to a foot tall and appear to be alabaster-skinned humans with two-foot wide feathered wings, like that of a large dove’s.   Justicar
Appearing as bipedal humanoids with the body of a Rehk-Ur but the head of a crow, Justicars are a curious sort indeed. Each Justicar has its own set of principles which it will uphold with the full strength of its body and life, travelling to the far corners of Gaia and doling out justice wherever it goes.   Builder Beetles
Builder Beetles, as they’re known, are odd, brass, clockwork beetles about a foot in diameter. They’re very helpful little critters, and extremely highly prized for their skills. Each Builder Beetle is equipped with certain small tools, and they attempt to gather a specific type of material to process into a device.

History

Before all existed, there was nothing but the heavens where the angels dwelled and celebrated themselves as the monarchs of all there was to behold. However, there were some that did not hold the beliefs of their fellow celestials and sought for a higher purpose for their rather pointless and everlasting existence. The realm of the celestials was laced in gold and marble, waterfalls and floating castles, festivals and parties that echoed through the heavens. Below the skies was a vast garden created by all the celestials to enjoy, an expansive, lush, and stunning byproduct of creation that was only inhabited by flora and fauna. With the creation of the world from the efforts of the deific entities that dwelled above, came the mortal races. Each with their own patron and protector, a voice within the celestial courts to protect them from those that might seek to harm them, and for that their offspring on Gaia praised their creators and were devout to them as a result.   When the creation of Gaia came to be, there were many Celestial Princes involved with the formation of the realm. Each celestial possessed a dominion that they ruled over, night and day, earth and sea, dreams and reality, anything that existed was ruled over by one of the celestials. All of them together formed the Court of Order that ruled over Gaia from afar, bestowing their instinctive nature and gifts to their children on the planet below. From their pantheon in the heavens, each crafted their contribution to Gaia with a touch of their celestial powers and created it as it was in the expansive heavens above. The world became an altered version of the realm that the Celestial Princes lived in and as such, it was loved by the Courts of Order like it was their own.

The Creation Of The Celestial Princes

~A depiction of the Great Titan in the daytime.~
The source of the Celestial Princes, who later became the craftsmen of creation was the Great Dragon of Creation, an ancient and primordial being who transcended time, space, and reality. Before there was nothing and nothing was blissful. However, the Great Dragon sought purpose and love, to give him comfort in his eternity and share in it with him. From his form, he created the Celestial Princes who possessed the ability to shape something from nothing, each designed with their own purpose to play in creation. It is said the primordial being then rooted himself into the image of a massive tree lodged in a stone and there became the center of the Celestial Realm.   His purpose was to guide his celestial children towards the happiness that he was brought when they were created and the Great Primordial desired for them to have their own beautiful creations that would bring them joy and love as the Princes only knew of their love for the Great Primordial and nothing else. Each prince then founded their own domain, and of that, they ruled over completely. From there, the Celestial Princes formed what has come to be the mortal plane of existence. As creation began to form and the world began to take shape from below the Celestial Conclave’s domain, the Celestial Princes found that they alone could not form their domains alone and from this, the Lesser Celestials were born.
