Siege on the Wordon Homestead

The siege was an opportunistic attack upon the Worden Homestead by the Brotherhood of Tarn and occurred in 988 EoM. The Worden Homestead at the time spanned around two acres squared and had a population of around sixty people. The population was made of made up of those who had mostly struggled to find their place in the bigger cities including those who worshiped other faiths such as Xegruni, those who showed aptitude for using magic and even some of those who were outlaws and on the run. The settlement did not police who came to live there only that they behaved appropriately. Here magic was practiced freeloy and it even became a place for learning and researching magic.   It's unclear exactly how the village was discovered, weather it was a member of the village, weather signs of magic was picked up by a paladin scouting party, or if it was someone from Wintrow who traded supplies. Regardless a brotherhood scouting party observed the village from afar before returning to the keep to report in on what they had seen.   A raiding party of twenty paladins were assesmbled under the scrutinising leadership of the Martinet Sister Esther they traveled on horseback for thirty days to reach the homestead where they camped unseen at the edges of the forest. The next morning they readied for attack.   As dawn broke the paladins mounted their horses and burned their torches they forced all of the community towards the village as they set it on fire, the position of the homestead allowed them secrecy and seclusion but due to its closeness to the cliffs edge gave them no where to run.   The paladins were ruthless and dispatched everyone they could find, the sole survivor of the attack was Thoma Wroden who was thrown into the burning ruins of his home and fell into the basement shielding him from most of the carnage.
