Goblins

Goblins are the most recent inclusion to the demogragraphic of Gand, with most only making the trek across oceans within the last decade or so. Most of the goblin population are Trow Goblins which hail from the Rastlands- a clustered family of insolas which have hosted the Trow for generations despite its harsh environment. The two areas are separated by a vast ocean riddled with peril and monsters, the trip across would not have been an easy one. It is unknown what exactly prompted this mass exodus from their homeland as the Trow are tight-lipped and notoriously vague about the conditions, many seem to almost struggle to recall why they left but all agree that it was from necessity not want.   The assimilation of Goblins into Gand society has not been one without growing pains, with many ctizens inherently distrustful of the newcomers, particularly those who were around to remember the sealing of the Elves. Many of the Trow either did not speak, or spoke very limited in the way of common and orcish furthering the communication divide.   Due to their hardy psysiology and small stature many goblins have been incorporated in the menial workforce, as they are capable lifting as much as a human but require less room and food as them. It not uncommon for goblins new to Gand to be enlisted into workhouses serving long contracts which, de to the lack of common speak many didn't understand upon signing. They tend to be put into the more precarious jobs, working longer hours and receiving little benefits for doing so.

This also makes them a valuable target for the The Pit Fighters who are always looking for new combatants to match up for the sake of sport, Pit Fighters like using goblins partly for the novelty of seeing them fight but because many of them are desperate for money and lack the tightly-knit communities that stop them from falling through the cracks.
Recent times have seen a pushback among goblin communities who are working towards better working rights and living conditions many goblins are getting involved at local levels of government in order to push for reform.
Despite the sometimes rocky relationship that goblins have with the sociopolitical landscape many goblins have found their home in Gand and newer, stronger communities are springing up everyday. In Rakside especially the Trow have brought elements of their culture into the city, bringing vibrant colour, crafts and food with them. Their presence has been so widely felt that a section of Rakside is now affectionately referred to as the 'Green Quarter' after it's inhabitants. During the day delious delicacys can be smelt and the sound of goblin folk music bounces between buildings.

Types of Goblin

There are two types of Goblin Trow Goblins and Murklin Goblin. Although both are classed under the same umbrella term of goblin the two species differ dramatically in physiology and environment; Murklins have a keen sense smell and terrible of eyesight but Trow have great vision and

Faith

Some goblins are converting to the The Church of Tarn due to how widespread its influence is, bu the majority of goblins worship Jarmine- Creator of the Trow goblin.
Vassidy took a deep breath of crisp night air, her breath ghosting from the chill.  In the courtyard below Splat howls with laughter as Asper hops around clutching their newly stubbed toe. "They give me the creeps sometimes-" Vassidy begins letting the words hang like breath "-goblins I mean, always skittish and there's something 'bout how they all look like an anvil is about to drop on them. I thought it was just Splat but I've never met a goblin who's not like that, have you?"
Sloan cocked his head to the side, he had noticed this in his few and limited interactions with Trow-folk but had chalked it up to his rank, most people were nervous enough when they saw his armour or the shiny sword on his hip. But it had followed him now with his dressed down appearance and much smaller stature. As much as he wanted to to tell Vassidy it was her command of every room hecould see her line of thought.

"Why, do you think they've done something?"   "My gut says that, or they're running from something"   She eyes him as if the answer was so painfully obvious and entertaining it was so very beneath her. "Oh come on, how many arrived here? Hundreds? Thousands? Why would content, safe, happy little people leave their homeland en masse?"   "They wouldn't?" He offers.   "They wouldn't!"  She sweeps her palms out picking up momentum as she reaches the core of what really bothers her. "But that's not the creepy thing. I've known Splat for years and when it matters he's as even-keeled as even-keeled can be. But bring his reasons for migratin' and he gets downright nasty"   She pauses and for a second Sloan winces, worried her voice is traveling to the ears below. He flicks his eyes downwards and then back to her. She get the message because she pauses, completely backing off until there's a soft lull of voices rising back up from the courtyard. She clears her through speaking quieter.   "Not all the time sometimes he gets confused like it's an odd thing to be bringin' up. It's almost like however you ask the question just glances right off him."   "So he doesn't want to talk, that can happen"   "But that's just it, they're all like that..."
