Trow Goblins
The Trow are one of two races of Goblin, the other being the Murklin Goblins. Trow goblins make up the vast majority of the goblin population and have been integrated into the general population of Gand only in recent years. Trow migrated from their homeland across the tumotulous seas from an area called the Rathlands. The Rathlands, a notoriously grueling area of harsh climates, made from sulphuric rich and rife with notions gas. Its considered in hospitable by all except to the Trow who are the native race with an innate resistance to much of the toxicity. The recent migration from the Rathlands has sparked Much speculation amounts the citizens of Gand, fuelled by how tight-lipped the Trow seem to be in regards to why they left.
The Trow are incredibly technology minded and have a knack for putting things together and taking them apart. A lot of them are excellent at working with machinery and in crafts. They have small, nimble hands which make them adept at undertaking delicate tasks.
Naming Traditions
Feminine names
Fig, Korhl, Zeg, Tig, Golt, Plat
Masculine names
Zig, Zor, Lerk, Crak, Varcek
Family names
Goblins follow a naming convention of creating hybrid names, When two Trow form a family they create their own surname by combining their first names into one. This is then passed down to their offspring until they create their own surname when they settle down. This gives the Trow a way to track their linage through their name.
A goblin named Mixi and a goblin named Varg may choose to take on the surname Varxi. The two would then be names Mixi Varxi and Varg Varxi respectively.
Other names
A common naming convention among Trow is to adopt a secondary name when choosing a profession, this is generally a short work associated with some piece or aspect of their job. Although this name can change should the goblin change professions most opt to keep their first. This practice is now adopted not only in Trowlen but in common too. Some common goblin secondary names include: Splat, Swish, Oil, Purr, Snarl, Snag, Rip, Grunt, Curl, Stitch, Suture, Grumble
Culture
Foods & Cuisine
Trow Goblins are primarily meat eaters and have a row off sharp canine teeth to accomodate ripping apart tissue. Goblins have strong stomachs and are able to eat a wide array of toxic animals as well as as animal meat that has decayed.
They also eat a array of insects.
Goblins stomachs however do not agree with most cooked foods and cannot break down a lot of fibrous plants. Common food items like bread, cheese, pasta cannot be digested.
Goblin delicacies uses a lot of aged and fermented meat dishes, the cultural dish of the Trow is aged and smoked eel.
Funerary and Memorial customs
Unlike Kith and Orcs, Trow Goblins are not strict on how their dead are treated. Goblin death is an unstable affair, and goblins tens to grieve in solitude, although cremation and burial are both acceptable rites in Gand, in he Rastlands the most common method is simply thowing the dearly departed into an active volcano.
