Phandalin

Government

Phandalin is governed by Mayor Julco, a respected figure known for balancing the needs of settlers, miners, and adventurers. Unlike larger cities, Phandalin’s leadership is informal, relying on cooperation rather than bureaucracy.

Industry & Trade

Phandalin’s economy relies on mining, farming, and trade. The reopening of Wave Echo Cave has brought prosperity, attracting merchants, smiths, and craftsmen. Caravans travel along the Triboard Trail and roads to Neverwinter, bringing tools, weapons, and supplies in exchange for ore and agricultural goods.

  • Phandalin Miners’ Exchange – A guild representing mining interests and trade.
  • Stonehill Inn Patrons – An informal social network of locals and travelers sharing news.
  • The Town Guard – Small but growing, led by Commander Varra Hightower to protect against bandits and monsters.

History

Originally a small farming village, Phandalin was destroyed by orc raids during the orc invasions centuries ago. It lay abandoned for generations until prospectors rediscovered the Wave Echo Cave and its legendary Forge of Spells. In the late 1480s DR, settlers returned, rebuilding the village on its original site. The events of the Lost Mine of Phandelver solidified its place as a frontier hub, with adventurers playing a key role in securing its safety.
