Nations of the Planet

Earth has seen many nations, collectives, groups, empires and states throughout human history. Following over a century of political turmoil across the globe, from the Second World War, to the Cold and Vietnam Wars, to the War on Terror and Invasions of the Middle East, all of Humanity was balanced on a razor blade.   A third world war would bring about extinction for atleast 70% of Earth's population, the number of nuclear and chemical weapons held would assure that. Throughout the 2050's, across the world, revolutions began. Regimes toppled, governments replaced and in the end new nations arose. For the first time in a century Humanity wanted peace not war. A new world began. Not all nations Grouped together after the revolutions, and some nations saw no change at all. Most of the new 'nations' would have been more traditionally known as alliences rather than nations. Any nation not listed below saw no change to regime, governement or atleast established no new borders or collectives.   Out of the ashes of old countries new ones established borders and names:
  • United States of America - Now a collection of only 48 states, Alaska and Hawaii being removed as states and fell under new national leaderships.
  • United Provinces of Canada and Alaska - Each of Canda's 10 provinces and Alaska established their own leaders, all answering to a centeralised federal government, much like their neighbours to the south.
  • United Kingdoms of England, Scotland and Wales - Each of the three nations, were officially recognised as their own authority again, not subserviant to England. Retaining the English Parliament, but under the new name of Parliament of Nations - the House of Lords and Commons being dissolved with each nation having 30 representatives each in the new Parliament.
  • The Democratic Republic of Japan - The island nation gained control of the islands to its north, including the Sakhalin Island and Kuril Islands from Russia, as well as the Districts of Russia surrounding the Sea of Okhotsk.
  • Kotahitanga o te iwi Māori/The United People of New Zealand - The nation of New Zealand officially changed its name, recognising it's ancestory, but retaining the name New Zealand as a secondary name
  • United Nations of Western Europe - The nations of Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Czechia and Poland came together. Each still opperating as an autonomous state, but with a united Governmental presence in Luxembourg who oversee trade, unified laws, treaties and militaries.
  • The Free People's Democratic Nation of China - One of the major regimes toppeled in the 2050's, China's communist party was officially removed from power, the people electing representatives for each of China's regions. A few regions were relinquished from China's control, noteably Tibet, which became its own nation, Inner Mongolia which was given to Mongolia, and Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang which were given to the Republic of Korea.
  • Union of Southern Asia - The nations of Tibet, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Laos, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Phillippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong. A collective union of independant nations who all work together to ensure a international free health service, trade with other nations, and a military presence. So that one nation didn't house the 'seat of power' for all the nations, a man made island was constructed in the Bay of Bengal, creating a city state where the unions congress meet.
  • United Ireland - England relinquished control of Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland reunifiing their island under one nation, a United Ireland.
  • Scandinavian Collective Nations - A group of countries inside scadinavia and surrounding the Baltic Sea, with an parliament of nation in Copenhagen. Copenhagen being removed from Sweden and established as its own city state, representing all the nations in the Collective. These countries are Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland.
  • United Mediterranean People - A collaboration nations that surround the mediterranean sea, Italy, Spain, Greece, Malta, and Tunisa. Each of these nations becoming essentially each an autonomous state all representated in the Mediterranean Congress located in Malta.
  • Nations of the Black Sea - Lead by the Republic of Turkiye, the three nations of Turkiye, Bulgaria and Georgia united together to stand against the Middle East Union and Eastern European United People as their own nation.
  • Republic of Korea - Another major regime toppled in the wake of the third world war, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) was a major target for the United States and NATO forces during the war, including the assassination of their leader Kim Jon Un and systematic dismantling of North Korea's military forces. Though used by the United States and NATO during the war as a staging ground, after the war was over and peace began the former North Korea was handed over to the South Korean's coming forth as the Republic of Korea.
  • Middle East Union - After years of war in their countries even before the third world war, the countries inside the middle east looked to create an economic union, much akin to that in Europe. Dubbed the MEU each nation inside of the union opperates as its own autonomous state, but opperate as allies. Though shakey at first the union found common ground in being the birth place of many modern religions across the world. The countries of Bahrain, Cyprus, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Palestine, Syria and Yemen all formed this union.
  • Eastern European United People - The countries of Belarus, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia and Slovenia united into the Eastern European United People, opperating as one large country, with each former nation acting more akin to states answering and being governed by a centralised federal government.
