Arcadia

Structure

Arcadia used to be a monarchy under the rule of the Placeholder family.

Demography and Population

The population of Arcadia is now much-reduced due to the ongoing civil war, but is primarily made up of humans, dwarves, and gnomes. Half-orcs and other beastfolk were not eligible for citizenship, though there were groups trying to change that.
After twenty years of civil war, however, the population swings heavily towards women as many young men are conscripted, and a significant percentage of living men are wounded veterans.

Territories

Modern-day Arcadia has shattered into thirty-odd independent states, spread across the former feudal territories. Lords and coalitions claim territory and hold it through brute force or ancestral claim or electorate, depending.

Military

Most of the military might of Arcadia is in small warbands, skirmishing with family members from across the wrong river.

Religion

There is no established state religion, but during the Schism

Foreign Relations

There is no longer a central authority for Arcadia to make treaties. However, the more stable individual states still maintain treaties.

Agriculture & Industry

Before the schism, Arcadia was a center of invention and research. Steam engines had been invented, and the importation of gunpowder from Althia led to the rapid development of firearms. 20 years of war has refined these technologies.

Trade & Transport

The city of Arcadia itself, as well as Ardenport, the second largest city in the kingdom, were large ports with access to the Dwarfsea and the open oceans. Significant
