“No monument stands in Kadirum that was not first paid for in human lives.”The Kadian Empire, known as Imperium Kadiorum ruled over the now-named Kadian Sea, Sea of Drakes, and much of the subcontinents of Desh and Azora. Much of its expansion succeeded the collapse of the Kades Republic and the usurpation of the Senate there.
Culture
The Kadian Empire was build on the principles of a highly militaristic and philosophical regime. Within its borders, hierarchy was considered sacred. Within the empire, all people had their place, their role to play, and there was little to no way to move up within the society without patronage from the most powerful people above you. Because of this, the Kadians also saw order and peace above personal freedoms. Personal liberties within the empire was seen as dangerous, something that could unravel the tenets of the empire. Many were taught at a young age that Law and Structure were the lifeblood of civilization.
Another prominent note was the concept of legacy. Building massive monuments, raising cities, etc all showed the power and might of the Kadian Empire. From even the earliest days of the empire, slaves were used to pave and build the Kadiran Way, a massive system of roadways that replaced dirt paths with cobblestone streets to help their militaries move faster. Jokingly said, wherever Kadians march, a road shall follow.
The Kadian Empire also saw that the military and nobility were nearly the same within its borders. Nobility were expected to be the finest fighters, well-learned in tactics and rhetoric. To hold a noble house was to be ready to defend the empire or conquer those who they saw as weaker within a moment's notice. Homes of nobility were, despite lavishly built, often spartan in decoration with very few personal effects, but numerous decorations dedicated to the Empire and Imperial Cult.
