Summer Camp 2025, Prompt 3: A profession related to spirituality or philosophy
Arbiters are a specific job held by members of the Order of the Seal of Saint Imogen, a sect of the Lucian Faith. They are known to be religious advisors to the leadership of all Church-recognized nations of Ezre, and also act as a sort of bodyguard to the throne. Despite being affiliated with a particular nation throughout their career, each Arbiter is loyal only to the Order of the Seal of Saint Imogen, though they have vowed to protect the prosperity of the nation they serve.

Law, Order, and Arbiters
Arbiters are notably not obligated to follow the orders of their assigned ruling body, and they are vowed to protect only the nation they serve, not the ruling body itself. If an Arbiter deems a revolution to be more beneficial to the nation than the current system of power, they may join it or even assassinate the current leaders themselves. Arbiters are not required to follow the laws of the nation they serve, instead being subject to Mesegña's canon law. Arbiters have the ability and right to commandeer forces from their assigned nation, and any direct order given to a military personage or person under suspicion by an active-duty Arbiter is compulsory.Selection Criteria
To become the Arbiter of a particular nation, the clergyperson of the Order of the Seal of Saint Imogen must have undergone a strict training regimen at the Order's home base of Isla Santiega, and they must not have citizenship to nor immediate heritage from the nation they are assigned to. The potential Arbiter must also be a Pactmaker. Training on Isla Santiega generally lasts for one to two years, and involves rigorous lessons in battle, strategy, politics, morality, and ethics as well as the expected courses in religion. Even if a clergyperson passes this course load, they may not be assigned to a nation as an Arbiter for years — or ever — as there is a consistent number of Arbiters at all times.Nations with Arbiters
Only nations officially recognized by the Lucian Faith and the Order of the Seal of Saint Imogen are provided Arbiters. To note, the Lucian Faith recognizes the Republic of Caerowyn, but the Order does not, thus they are not permitted an Arbiter. The Lorausii States are another exception to the rule, as they have multiple Arbiters, but not every member state has one. Only the oldest and most stable of the Lorausii States are granted an Arbiter. The nations recognized by both parties and their current Arbiters as of 1897 PI are as follows:
