Gaia - The Earth Mother
Gaia is the Goddess of the Earth. She is a malevolent and destructive deity who wishes to dominate all of creation and bring forth the ruin on the Gods.
Gaia is one of the Primordial deities, one of the first beings in existence. Gaia is the embodiment and personification of the matter, the building blocks on which creation is built.
Gaia presides over the domain of earth, from soil and rock to the Elemental Plane of Earth, where she is imprisoned. It is also speculated that Gaia is not anthropomorphic and rather the Plane of Earth is the very body of Gaia herself as she slumbers.
Gaia was imprisoned within the Elemental Plane of Earth by the other Primordials after attempting to usurp the other Gods, she would later try to usurp the Gods again in a war known as the Gigantonomy during the Golden Age. Gaia currently slumbers within the Earth, waiting for her chance to get her revenge.
Gaia birthed many children in her pursuit of revenge, known as the Titans. Alone Gaia mothered Atlas, Epimetheus, Prometheus, the Elder Cyclopes, the Hecatoncheires, and the Titan Ceto. She would also birth the Goddess Echidna and the Gigantes from a union with her primary consort, the God Tartarus.
Because of her reputation Gaia is usually only referred to by epithets, such as “the Earth Mother”, “the Earthbreaker” or “the Giant Queen” as to avoid waking her or drawing her attention.
Gaia is not worshipped outside of specific cults or by Giants and Goliaths. Though some may beseech Gaia to prevent natural disasters.
