Tartarus - The Tormented One
Tartarus is the God of Corruption and Torment, and one of the Gods of Chaos. They are the Lord of the Abyss and the Father of all Demons.
Tartarus is a savage and abominable deity, they are the embodiment of corruption and stagnation, and the personification of the plane of Tartarus, more commonly called the Abyss. Tartarus wants nothing more than to bring an end to all of creation. It is speculated that Tartarus is not anthropomorphic and rather the Abyss is the very body of Tartarus themselves.
Both Apophis and Tartarus fulfill the role as Gods of Chaos and Evil, they were imprisoned in the early universe after attempting to destroy the Gods and bring an end to all of creation. Tartarus was cast deep within the Plane of the Abyss with the intent to trap them there, but Tartatus continues to send wave after wave of their Demon spawn into the universe, intending to slowly corrupt creation over time.
Tartarus is the primary consort of the Goddess Gaia, together they created the Goddess Echidna and the Gigantes.
Because of Tartarus’' evil nature they are usually only referred to by epithets, such as “the Tormented One” or “the Maw of the Abyss” as to avoid invoking them or drawing their attention.
Tartarus is not worshipped outside of specific demonic cults.
Apperance
Tartarus is commonly depicted as a colossal genderless giant, hairless with sickly decaying green skin, covered in blisters and scars. Tatarus is also sometimes depicted as formless, a singular bulbous yellow eye set above a maw made up of infinite rows of serrated teeth.
