Dukes of the Nine Hells
Here are some of the known and named Dukes of the Nine Hells. This list is subject to constant change.
Abaddon: One of the original Archdukes of the Nine Hells, ruling over Malbolge. But they were manipulated and usurped by the Archdevil Glasya during the Exorsian Civil Wars. Ashamed or embarrassed after being usurped, Abaddon has largely vanished into obscurity, seemingly too afraid of opposing Glasya for fear of angering Asmodeus.
The Arbiters. Three Dukes that are incredibly illusive and mysterious, loyal to only Asmodeus. They reside deep within the layer of Nessus and are said to oversee every Infernal Contract and deal ever made.
Bael: The right hand of Mammon and Duke of Minauros. A brilliant tactician, nicknamed the Bronze General. While terrifying on the battlefield, he lacks the skills of a politician, preventing him from climbing further up the ranks of the Hells.
Bel: One of the Generals of Avernus, and a powerful Pit Fiend. It is well known that Bel disapproves of Zariel’s tactics and promotion to Archduke, but either because of lack of opportunity, or devotion to the Hells, Bel has yet to make a move to oppose her reign.
Geyron: The former Archduke of Stygia, a fiend with the body of a humanoid and the lower half of a serpent. After Levistus reclaimed his position over Stygia, Geryon was forced to flee, but he remains opposed to Levistus, caught in a battle for dominion over Stygia.
Hutijin: The loyal right hand of Mephistopheles and Duke of Cania. A master tactician and terrifying combatant, despite his ability to contest Mephistopheles, he remains loyal, much to the surprise and confusion of the other Archdukes.
Lilith: A powerful Duke of the Nine Hells, the child of Belial and Fierna, and formerly one of the consorts of Asmodeus. She currently serves as the right hand of Baalzebul, the Archduke of Maladomini, after Moloch’s betrayal.
Moloch: The former right hand of Baalzebul and Duke of Maladomini. Moloch was banished from Maladomini after attempting and failing to usurp Baalzebul. He then went to serve Glasya in Malbolge, but failed at usurping her too. Untrusted by the other Archdukes, Moloch resides in hiding, awaiting his opportunity to reclaim power.
Titivilus: The right hand of Dispater and Duke of Dis. While Dispater hides within his iron palace, Titivilus represents his master in all matters outside the palace walls, acting as Dispater’s voice. While originally it is believed that Titivilus planned to usurp his master, it seems that they realised that they benefited far more as the only one at Dispater’s side.
