Cricket Elmwhil
Captain
Even for a drow, Cricket has a particular sensitivity to sunlight. The captain of the Wayward Sons is usually held up in his fortress, Miserth Keep, in the Sufder peaks north of Lake Castall. Cricket does little in the way of leading his mercenaries, leaving the mettlesome task of management to his underlings. it came to a surprise then, that Cricket accepted the Ariac contract on Althena and joining forces with his fellow captains.
Cricket is known for randomly throwing parties at the keep, inviting anyone from Ariac nobility to lowly peasants from the streets of his domain. When they are invited, their presence is non-negotiable.
There are rumors abound as to his past, which could explain his continued hold over the company—he once may have led a different life in the fearsome underworld of the Vendish Underdark.
Wishing to retire in peace to Danaï, he asked the protagonists of the Blood Money Campaign for help. They already foiled an assassination attempt on his life in his palace, ensuring that Cricket is a powerful ally and patron to party.
Sale of Miserth Keep
Cricket runs his operation out of Miserth Keep, a castle turned pleasure-palace at the foothills of the Sufder Peaks. Cricket wishes to sell the keep and retire to Danaï, and already made a deal with the Ariac Baron Eyck. However, as Medacnan's scheme for Bravia is underway, Baron Eyck altered the deal, offering him an insultingly paltry sum for the palace. Otherwise, he threatened, he would simply take it by force.
Baron Eyck has since died, becoming an unintented victim during an assassination attempt by the party on Medacnan in Neematona. It might be tricky to find anyone interested in Miserth Keep now, but Cricket promised a comission if they could help him sell it. That could net the party a fortune.
