Resignations Not Accepted

Bravia - Miserth Keep   Risking life and limb for a chance to return to Bravia’s good graces, the party revealed a plot to the leaders of the invasion that threatened to upend Bravia’s precious status quo. At the Bravian military camp outside the besieged city of Ponte, they encountered one of the invaders' leaders: a flamboyant Drow known as Cricket Elmwhil.   As it happens, Cricket and Pen shared a mutual acquaintance, the smuggler boss Quentin, and Pen Ding had once done a job that endeared him to Cricket. Seeing potential in the party, Cricket believed they could assist him with a delicate matter and graciously extended an invitation to his fortress in Bravia.   Back in Bravia, the party was ambushed by knights from an northern company, keen on claiming the bounties placed on Pen and Gok's’s heads. They eliminated the threat and pressed on to meet Cricket at his lavish palace, arriving during a social gathering. It was here that Cricket revealed his ambitions: to retire in the gleaming city of Danaï, a northern metropolis he had fallen in love with. Yet two obstacles blocked his dream.   First, his old rival, the crime lord Velenar Drak'thar, had his claws in Danaï. The presence of his Shadowed Blades would throw a wrench in Cricket’s peaceful retirement plans. Second, the scheme of selling his fortress, Miserth Keep, had collapsed due to the chaos of the civil war and the Ariac invasion. Without the sale, Cricket couldn’t afford the life he envisioned.   Seizing the opportunity, the party offered to help find a buyer for Miserth Keep in exchange for a commission. Cricket agreed.   As Cricket led them through the palace, two assassins struck from the shadows, nearly killing Cricket and abducting Gok. The party managed to capture one of the assassins, who turned out to be none other than Larnala. He'd been recruited by Sylvaena from the Shadowed Blades. After they dealt with him, the group set off in pursuit of Gok's kidnapper, this time with the aid of Rukka, Gok’s old mentor. Rukka tracked Gok through a hidden device embedded in Gok's armor, arriving too late to stop his abduction, but in time to find and return him.
