Evelyn Minx

Evelyn is poised, confident and wellkept. Despite being so petite, she exudes confidence and pride. Her hair which was once chestnut has faded to gray, only her feline ears retaining its original color, albeit faded. She nearly always keeps these ears manifested alongside her wings, when practical. In her magic form, orange patterns appear across her body and face, her hair and eyes take on some of the same color as well.

Evelyn served the kingdom's military in her youth, taking part in the final years of the campaign in Alkelbulan. Determined, assertive, passionate and fierce, her cohorts consider Evelyn a spitfire and many were intimidated by her. In every phase of her life she has remained passionate about her family and proud of the position her family plays within the kingdom. This passion carried over after her service as well, Evelyn marrying immediately after returning home in order to continue "doing her part". She married Titus Minx for the potential his Aura presented to her bloodline but also because of a mutual respect for strength. From then on, Evelyn turned all of her attention to producing children and managing their estates!

Evelyn has always been a woman of high standards, strict values and deepset prejudices. It is not that she is not kind or altruistic--she is far more generous than many of her peers. But she was raised and even steeped in these ideals with little outside influence to shatter her insulated reality, growing up in a "golden age" of the kingdom wherin all nobility were strictly raised within the confines of their capital Accia. These unrealistic views were only amplified by Evelyn's struggles, growing more rigid in order to cope with her intense losses! She grew more devoted than ever about the Minx House, feeling the only way to honor the sacrifices of her children was to ensure the continuation of their line and the kingdom itself.

Now Tia alone represents that future, carrying the family legacy forward and simultaneously allowing all of her children to advance with her. Above all else, Evelyn refuses to let their sacrifices to amount to nothing! But its uncertain how these ideals will stand against her love for her family. Which will remain her priority, the memory of her fallen children or the life of her precious grandaughter?

As the losses of their children mounted, Titus increasingly placed the blame onto Evelyn. He believed she was too soft on their children and this led to their weakness. He developped an obsession with cleansing weakness from his family. Each time a child died, he expected Evelyn to erase every trace of them from the manor. He also began punishing Evelyn for even the tiniest expression of weakness or sorrow, any tears she shed. Eveylyn still suffers deep shame or even fear when she is overcome by these emotions, struggling even after Titus passed away to express vulnerability in front of others. The loss of her children, her treasures, inevitably had an impact on Evelyn, no matter how strong willed she is.

Evelyn became overly attached to appearances, traditions, ritual and family responsibilities, allowing them to become more important to her than is logical. This was especially the case with her relationship with her youngest child Felicity, who chafed under her mother's perfectionism. Felicity was not just her youngest child, Evelyn viewed her as the collective legacy of all of her children, stacking the weight of that future squarely on her daughters shoulders--much as she attempts to do the same to Tia. For the hot tempered, contrary Felicity, this presure had devastating consequences and ruined the relationship between mother and daughter so egregiously that Felicity has cut off all contact with Evelyn! And while Evelyn has refocused her attention into the management of the Minx territories alongside humanitarian pursuits, the overwhelming sense of dread for the doom of her bloodline is ever at her heels--she had began to lose hope. This is why she clings so desparately to her relationship with her precious, one and only grandchild. This relationship will challenge Evelyn's shortcomings, scars and prejudices. Is she capable of change or will Tia be the next Felicity?

Evelyn runs a number of charities and organizations she either supports financially or champions more directly, something that has absorbed most of her attention in the absence of family. Some of these focus on minimizing the maltreatment of beasts and familiars in the kingdom, establishing a network of more humane beast keeping organizations. Evelyn herself is an apt beast tamer, currently caring for a minx kitten she rescued from the local black market! This three-legged minx becomes fiercely loyal and protective of Evelyn, even matching Evelyn with its fire magic!

Evelyn has also become quite the figure in northern Alkelbulan for her humanitarian aid, particularly to the Haratin in Marrakesh, providing hospitals, food and education to impoverished children. She is determined to provide these children with the resources to better survive their eventual military service as she tried to provide for her own children. These pursuits have caused her to clash against the Chevalier House who she has exposed for their animal abuse and political corruption, their house on the edge of ruin thanks to Evelyn and her allies. She has clearly made herself a stark enemy of the Chevalier.
