House Stormrider

House Stormrider was founded in 1012, by the Sultan, splitting the growing town of Seafall, from House Brightwater and awarding it to Ryland Stormrider for his successful military campaigns in the region against the forest tribes. After Ryland passed the title to Aldric Stormrider, known as the kraken.

Aldric defeated the forest peoples by destroying the fortress of Vardent Hollow. Aldric passed the title to Ivar Stormrider , who expanded the Seafall Docks to allow larger merchant vessels to dock in Seafall and created the Tide Guard Marauders . After Ivar, Hilde Stormrider inhertied the title of head of House Stromrider. She made significant wealth sending merchants to far flung corners looking for goods, talents and ideas to come back to Seafall. The town flourished under Hildes guidance until her passing of the tittle to Frensia Stormrider .

Under Frensia's leadership the down fell into steep decline. She belived the wealth and trade of her mother led to corruption of the people of Seafall and so outlawed most merchants. She did however rebuild the Church of Mara into a large stone building as she was a devout woman.

After this all of this culminating in the reign of Cedric Stormrider, the current Timir.

Culture

The cold winds of the western sea blow over the lands of Stormrider and shape its people. Many of its people earn their living from the sea, so nautical phrases, symbols, and maritime folklore permeates the culture. Sightings of giant sea beasts are often discussed, and local legends speak of krakens, merfolk, and all manner of sea creatures are featured in common tales told at the local tavern.
