House Brightwater
Lore
The noble House of Brightwater are the rulers of two holdings in southern and eastern Belkar. The larger holding is Port Haven, the largest city in the Southern Marches. A noble house back in the age of Petty Kings, during the age of Emberforge, a famine struck the southern marches in 781. The Lord of Port Haven continued to tax much of the food. Death stalked the land and the peasants started to revolt. The grain merchants guild supported the peasants, arming them and providing food for the revolts. Soon the local lord was chased from the city and the peasants elected the grain keepers guild to lead them. From that day forward a member of the guild was voted to lead them by the other merchants of the guild. This title is for life, but the tittle is not hereditary.
