Mralgir, Last Call of Tǔr

The first city to fall to the rise of Sackrym, and the home of the Arc-Breakers, the people of Mralgir are fiercely independent and distrustful of magic. The hold is well known for its serious nature, efficient port, and modest navy. Jarl Boran Mrallin, a lithe hobgoblin known for his honor and cunning in combat, is the lord of the hold. He swears fealty to the Elturian Kingdom more out of honor and the trade with Aldhon.
The hold is broken up into four districts, Eltgart, the Causlen, Norla, and Soregh. The Elturgart, or "Gate to Elt," holds the docks and the ruins of what was a grand archway into the city. From where the ruins of the old archway is, you can just see the tips of the Star Reach Peaks, and it is said on a clear day the archway would frame the distant land perfectly. The Causlen is the central district that runs from the docks to the Alg road, here there are a great deal of merchants, inns, and taverns. The Jarl makes his home in a grand long house near the center of town so that he can be available to his people. The final two districts, the Norla and Soregh are the north and south wards of the city. Here the professions, guilds, and neighborhoods find their home.
Government: Currently Jarl Boran is in prison since he would not swear fealty to House Skjol (even though he agrees with the rebellion), his son has gone into hiding, and the town is being governed by Regent Buri Culligan, a hobgoblin appointed as a representative of House Skjol   Defense: The hold has a modest navy behind that of Aldhon and Bayhold, an active city watch, and a garrisoned battalion of nearly 500 soldiers. Its edge though are the Arc-Breakers that will come to the city's defense when needed.   Commerce: With the size of Mralgir, most all necessities can be found here. Even some rare materials, such as Kradore or fire pearls, sometimes find their way through this port.   Organizations: There are shrines to most of the deities throughout the city, however there is a temple to Regla within the Causlen, and Bordin in the Norla district near the border of Eltgart. Makic's Grounds, the training halls of the Arc-Breakers can be found in the southern edge of the city in the Soregh.

Under the Thumb of the Skull Mage

The culture of Mralgir was heavily shaped by its occupation of the skull mage and his forces. Sackrym had traveled to one of the dawn war battlefields north of the hold an defiled the mass graves found there by using it to raise an army of the dead. The oppression by an undead force had seemingly stamped out much of the humor of its inhabitants and fueled their vehemence of the Arcane. The rebel group during the occupation, known as the Arc-Breakers, has since turned into a guild in its own right. Service in the hold's militia or better yet, admittance into the Arc-Breakers is seen as a great honor with the people that call Mralgir their home.

Geography

Mralgir lies on the northern shore of the Turian Penninsula. The landscape is fertile and there are rolling green hills shortly inland. quite unlike the rocky landscape on the other side of the Turian straight. With the cool waters this far north, there are not many large violent waves, making the port friendly for merchant ships. The large mountains to the southeast keep a a fair amount of clouds from passing inland, making Mralgir cloudy most days with a fair amount of rain.

Eltgart

Warf Master's Leisure: Both the office of the Warf Master, a gruff bug bear by the name of Gulli, and his dive bar where he serves the fisherman of the hold.   Misty's Market: Sister to the suspicious sea witch of Aldhon. Misty, a kindly elderly woman, runs a small market with several stalls. Shein particular peddles in strange herbs and remedies, and sometimes secrets.   Wave's Rest: A modest bed and breakfast run by a family of Skrill.

The Causlen

Bollian's Bits Bobs:   The Long Table Tavern: Run by the friendly firbolg, Malligan, who wanted to make sure that everyone had a place at his table, The Long Table Tavern is one of the few places where the serious humor of the Mrallirs are broken. This tavern is often full of laugh, drink, and a soft place to lay your head.   Temple to Regla: Also serving as the court houses, the people of Mralgir highly respect the rule of law. The high priest, Hirand Koll, also serves as the town's high arbiter.

Norla

Jikal's Landing: An affluent neighborhood that dominates the Norla district. Named after Jikal Mrallin, the founder of Mralgir, the denizen's of this district were often retired from a successful career in the guard, powerful merchants, or otherwise families that have impressed the Jarls of the past. The current jarl is beginning to become frustrated with the denizens of the Neighborhood as they are distancing themselves from the common people.   Temple to Bordin: The sounds of constant forging and other crafts can be heard coming from these halls. Those that do not work down in the docks or in the Causlen often find work here creating many of the weapons and other goods needed throughout the region. The high priest Gulligar Stron is also known as the hold's best blacksmith.

Soregh

Makic's Grounds: Home of the Arc-Breakers, these grounds hold a large field for training and several large buildings where the members of the guild can sleep, study, or train. The higher ranking members all have some aptitude with defensive magic and special training with regards to dealing with powerful arcane spell casters.   Sorin's Way: This neighborhood is home to most of the middle and lower middle class of the city. They often travel throughout Mralgir to complete their work, and have a deep respect for the Arc-Breakers while distrusting outsiders and the residents of Jikal's Landing.   Harfin's Hovel: A seedy dive bar along the southern wall run by a crusty Skrill by the name of J'ka. The Snike have recently sent a few members to Mralgir to see if they could get a foothold, and they have been using Harfin's Hovel as a meeting place.
