Session 31, Line Breakers
General Summary
When last we met, our heroes had infiltrated the city of Mralgir to attend a secret meeting with some of the hold's more prominent members, such as Jukali the son of the Jarl, Malligan the inn keeper, Sjalir head of the Arc-Breakers, as well as others. They learned that the town was appreciative of the cessation of the taxes that the queen had levied on the town, however they were quite nervous about the large force that resides outside their wall. Additionally, the townsfolk as a whole have mixed feelings about staying under the thumb of the queen, they don't fully understand why they need the crown's protection, and they maintain their own identity. As the players intervened, they revealed that the queen had sent them to take care of the situation in Mralgir, and managed to convince the community leaders that they would bring their issues to the queen directly.
As a result, the group needed to find a way to break the soft siege that had been lain on the city, and the best way to do that was to confront the war hero Line Breaker Bolso in his daily parade. While house Skjol had appointed a govenor while the Jarl was in prison, Bolso is the ranking military officer and has the real deciding power in the area. In the town square outside of the Long Table Tavern, our intrepid adventurers met Bolso and his retinue in battle. Through the harrowing fight the group managed to knock the enemy combatants unconscious. As Bolso came to, he agreed to meet them inside the Tavern for a negotiation in good faith regarding the fate of the town.
