Krieg Chest

Krieg Chest is actually a combination of four small villages with a central fortification and market square that are clustered around a slight bend in the Beltway. The separate villages each have walls, the northern is the largest and most fortified as it has the Steinwark Sentinels fort in its southern wall. Small gatehouses lie within the outer walls that connect the four village walls.

The commander of the Esterreach Sentinels in Krieg Chest is a capable officer approaching middle age called Jorund Maueren.

The individual villages are called:

• Norden - lying on the norther side, and largest of the villages. Also, best defended due to the Esterreach Sentinels fortification within its southern wall where it borders The Basket.
• Sudr - The southernmost village, containing the Broken Wagon Wheel Inn and a wide variety of local artisans.
• Ostler - Smaller and more agrarian settlement that holds a few huge granaries and other storehouses within its inner wall.
• Weiland - Westernmost village bordering the side of the Basket most commonly used for livestock trading.

The central market square is called The Basket. There are several warehouses and granaries within the four villages that have relatively simple access from the Gathers. There is a prominent military presence in the town for tax collecting and for purchase of supplies for Steinwark's military.

Krieg Chest was recently attacked by Kobold raiders. Although the attack was successfully countered the Kobolds managed to cause damage to some of the southern parts of Krieg Chest including setting fire to a major Granary in Ostler.

The Inn called The Broken Wagon Wheel which is favoured by travellers and locals alike lies just inside the walls of Sudr.
