Feir'Dal

Overview

  The Feir'Dal, also known as Wood Elves, are an elven ethnic group living in the Faybright Forest. They are one of the shorter elven ethnicities and have pale skin, dark hair, and green eyes. Like their cousins the Koada'Dal, the Feir'Dal retreated to the Combine citadel that became known as Bastion after the collapse of the empire. However, after the fall of Bastion in AL 439, they joined the Koada'Dal in sailing east to their ancient homeland of Faydwer. There they constructed the tree city of Kelethin in the Faybright Forest. Unfortunately, conflict quickly broke out with their warlike neighbors in Crushbone. Now the Feir'Dal must be ever vigilant against orc raids.  

Culture

  The Feir'Dal, along with the E'ci'Dal, are descendants of the rural Amarilian elves who wandered the Elddar Forest in the time of Takish Hiz. They remain much less interested in architecture, art, and literature than the Koada and Sul'Dal. They prefer to live in the moment and are enamored with the primal beauty of the natural world. They enjoy pranks and tend to possess a mocking sense of humor (both towards others and themselves: they love making jokes at their own expense). They tend to be closed and mistrusting with other peoples, having found that few share their appreciation for nature; however, with those who earn their trust, they are jovial and gregarious.  

Relations

  Their closest friends in Faydwer are the sylphs of the Faydark Forest, who share their love of both nature and pranks. During their time in Tharron, the Feir'Dal had the best relations with the Rathian humans, who shared their respect for nature. These warm feelings remain, despite the geographical separation of the two groups, and Rathians are welcomed on the rare occasions when they come to visit. The Feir'Dal retain cordial, if not particularly warm, relations with their Koada'Dal cousins (who they feel are insufferably vain and arrogant, but with whom they have a long history of cooperation).
