Crushbone

Crushbone Citadel is the starting town for Crushbone orcs. It consists of two areas, the castle and the town. The castle is made of stone quarried in the Mountains of Scale and transported down the Bloodwine river, which has been diverted to flow around the castle like a moat. Outside the moat lies the town, which comprises various farms and workshops, an iron mine, the slave pits, and a Pantheon with Rallos Zek as the centerpiece. This settled area is surrounded by a high earthen ridge topped with a wooden palisade. Beyond this bulwark, various smaller camps and farms exist in the forest, but these are vulnerable to raids by the Feir'Dal.   Crushbone has diplomatic relations with the Teir'Dal who have sent an Herald of Innoruuk, Ambassador Dvinn, to act as their liaison with Emperor Crush.   Crushbone has trainers for the warrior, ranger, shaman, druid, cleric (zek), and templar (Crusaders of Zek) classes. Additionally, Ambassador Dvinn offers Cleric of Innoruuk training.   The Slave Pits: The Crushbone orcs regularly send out raiding parties to capture slaves and plunder. Captured slaves are brought back to Crushbone to the slave pits. From here, orcs can purchase slaves to do menial work. Some slaves work the farms, some mine the gold mine under the citadel, others work as porters or similar labor, and finally captured craftspeople work as indentured craftsfolk.   Underport: An underground river known as the Languid River runs below the Faybright forest and Loping Plains, before emptying out into the Deep Marsh. An Underfoot entrance in Crushbone leads to a tunnel that comes out at the bank of the river where the orcs have built a small dock. From this point, barges travel up and down the river connecting Crushbone with the Teir'Dal at T'Vatar Castle without ever passing through elven territory.   The Oak of War: An Ancient Oak stands as the gathering point for the Druids of War, the druids of Crushbone who call upon the powers of the forest to lay their enemies low.

History

The Crushbone orcs long claimed dominion over all of the Greater Faydark. This led them into conflict with the other orc clans of Faydwer (and other groups such as the Fleeting Clan gnolls and the Red Wrath minotaurs). These persistent, but minor conflicts, mostly consisted of small raids and skirmishes. The arrival of the Tunarian elves heralded a drastic change.   When the elves arrived, fleeing the destruction of their homeland, they made little effort to negotiate with the Crushbone orcs. Declaring the forest their new home, they attacked any orcs that came within sight of their settlements. The orcs marshaled their forces and the war began. Now the Crushbone civilization is centered around driving the Koada'Dal and Feir'Dal invaders from their forest.
