Darklight Wood

The Darklight Wood is a subterranean fungal forest located between Neriak and Sagara. It is the newbie grounds for Neriak (or an alternative newbie zone for Sagarans). Pair of golems guard the entrance to the Via Darklight, providing a safe place for newbies to flee.   The forest extends across a large cavern somewhere above Neriak. A passage from the First Gate called the Via Darklight spirals up to this cavern. The cavern is dotted with toad-stools ranging from a few centimeters to a few meters in height. These mushrooms emit a dim, violet glow. Another passage leads up from the forest to the Seafarer's Roost in Sagara. A third passage leads south to the The Stone Forest. A fourth passage leads up to the surface in the Commonlands. Finally, A tight crevice leads to a series of drops that lead to the Black Desert, deep in the Underfoot. A large pond sits in the middle of the zone and a path winds around it on its way from Neriak to Sagara.
