The Stone Forest

A large cavern extends beneath the Elddar Desert. The cavern is shot through with petrified tree trunks that reach from the cavern floor to the stone ceiling like colossal bars. Numerous ponds and creeks criss-cross the area, but their water is black and poisonous. Balefire flickers in and out of existence throughout the forest, bathing the zone in, eerie, flickering light.   The ceiling at the center of the zone reaches down the the floor creating a caldera in the desert above. This is the location of the Oasis of Brell.  

NPCs

  Infernalisks (44-47): Basilisks from the Plane of Hate. Their gaze engulfs the target in paralyzing balefire for the duration of the effect.   Blighted Rusalka (40-42) - A river faerie that was trapped in the blighted waters of the forest when the curse struck. Now these crazed fae attack all that make contact with their waters.
