Commonlands

The Commonlands are a Mediterranean region extending inland from Sagara. The western Commonlands are mostly flat grasslands broken up by the remnants of ancient lava flows. The eastern Commonlands become increasingly hilly as they begin a gradual ascent towards the Rathe Mountains. The western Commonlands are home to Dervish vassals of Sagara who contend with Deathfist orcs from the east for control of the area. Deathfist encampments and Sentinel outposts can be found throughout the region. Overland trade bound for Qeynos passes through this region on its way to Highpass. The volcanic soil of the region is extremely fecund, allowing Dervish (and Deathfist) farms to provide unusually ample yields. As a result, Sagara has become a major exporter of foodstuffs.
