Duke Alexander ir'Yanus
Duke Alexander ir'Yanus is the youngest duke in Karrnath, at 23 years old. His father Duke Bogdan ir'Yanus died suddenly on New Year's Day, 1005 YK and left him in charge of the duchy. Although surrounded by experienced and competent staff, he is often uncertain of his decisions and anxious about his responsibilities.
He is set to marry Laura ir'Kiesling in a few months, as the marriage had been arranged by his father a decade prior.
As a teenager, he took his studies much less seriously than his twin sister Charlotte, and refused to enlist in the military despite family tradition and Bogdan's repeated requests to reconsider. Both Alexander and Charlotte were shocked when Bogdan's will was read and Alexander inherited the duchy. Alexander was used to a life of luxury but had never looked forward to holding this kind of responsibility. The ducal staff and Maj. Fendrick Gladefoot helped the young duke get acquainted with his duties, but Charlotte sulked for a couple of months before deciding to leave the castle and enlist in the Karrnathi Army.
