Phenomenology is the study of spiritual phenomena,
Souls, and supernatural entities. It’s regarded as the highest phenomena, overriding the laws of physics and being the origin of
Psikinetics. The two main branches studied within Phenomenology are ‘
Theosis’ and ‘
Iconoclasm’, with the origin of psikinetics also being studied.
The Vita Field
It’s theorised to all begin with the panpsychic field, more commonly referred to as the
vita field.
It’s analogous to a field from quantum field theory and borrows some terminology, but beyond some surface similarities it’s a completely distinct entity. If it behaved like a quantum field then it wouldn't be referred to as supernatural.
This field permeates the entire universe (and could also extend beyond it in some as yet inconceivable way) and is believed to be the source of souls and therefore consciousness. The reason why it’s also called the vita field is because it only interacts with living systems. In the absence of life, it appears to have no measurable effect on the universe.
Living organisms starting at the complexity of simple bacteria ‘resonate’ with this field. In other words, they introduce energy into this field in a similar way to how a tuning fork can transfer energy into and induce vibrations in another tuning fork, through resonance.
The term ‘energy’ here is borrowed from physics however, as it’s not energy as understood in the conventional sense. There’s no measurable loss in actual energy from living systems that has been detected, so it’s widely believed that what’s being transferred into this field is not energy as commonly understood. It’s referred to as spiritual energy, spiritual potential, or
Dyne, to keep it distinct.
The vita field, the dyne created within it, the souls created from it and any spiritual action that results from it (such as psikinetics) are considered to all possess a single
ousia - that is, a single spiritual nature. This differentiates it from other sources of spiritual action that are present in the universe, such as divine sources (Theosis) and sources not native to our universe (Iconoclasm), which each carry their own separate ousia, or nature.
The standard unit of measure for the rate of dyne production is the
Miro. One Miro is the amount of dyne that a human (pre-psikinetics) produces in the vita field every second. The Miro of a single cell or bacteria is typically measured in picomiro – trillionths of a Miro. A cat or dog may be measured around 0.9 to 1 Miro. The Miro rate typically scales linearly with the number of cells in the organism.
Once a creature’s soul reaches the threshold of being able to use psikinetics, its Miro rate begins to increase geometrically. Typical psikinetic species range in the hundreds, or thousands, of Miro. The typical Rodinian is in the millions. Miro rate is detectable by spiritually aware beings, and gives an indication of how complex and powerful a soul is, how good its psikinetics might be and the potency of other abilities and properties.
Dyne
As mentioned above, lifeforms starting at the complexity of simple bacteria resonate with the vita field, and cause the field to increase in dyne. Spiritually aware beings can perceive this field, and even measure the dyne that's being created in the field.
Dyne in its raw form is never observed outside the vita field. It’s simply a quantity or useful abstraction to describe how much the vita field has been disturbed by life in a region of space, and can be used by spiritually aware beings to detect signs of life.
Once created, dyne doesn’t disappear and can't be destroyed by any known process. However it can disperse, be moved around and absorbed into souls. Dyne is regarded as the building block of souls.
Dyne builds up wherever there is life, but will disperse like a gas unless there’s something to stop it from doing so. Life sustaining planets accumulate enormous quantities of dyne around them, as their gravitational fields bind it into massive planetary spiritual
Auras. This gravitational binding keeps the dyne density of the field high enough for souls to form. Without this, dyne would disperse and no souls would form. Life would not develop self-awareness.
As the dyne density of the vita field around the planet increases, from all life on the planet continuing to pump dyne into it, the quality of the souls produced from the planet’s spiritual aura will also increase. This is one of the reasons why Rodinian souls are so powerful – the Earth’s spiritual aura is so large and dense from four billion years of continuous dyne production, 500 million years of which was from a highly complex biosphere with a rate of dyne production few other planets in the cosmos could match.
The dyne auras around planets also protect lifeforms within it by repelling demonic entities. The immense auras exert a repulsive force upon such beings preventing them from getting near the souls of the creatures living within the aura. The Earth’s aura is large enough that it encompasses almost the entire Milky Way galaxy, making interstellar travel safe across the whole galaxy.
If a planet should be destroyed however and its gravitational field disappears, then its aura of dyne will disperse with catastrophic results for any lifeforms that have souls derived from it.
