The Cosmos

It’s widely accepted there was a creator that allowed the universe to form by fixing the laws of physics in a way that allowed complex life to form.   The Rodinians completed their understanding of the universe with only a small few questions still left unanswered, and understand existence to encompass a space-time expanding with a scale factor greater than 10²⁶ every trillionth of a second. This rapidly and eternally expanding space-time contains tiny bubbles of static or slowly expanding space-time that we would find more recognizable; our universe is contained within one of these. The rapidly expanding ocean of space-time around these islands of stability is called Billowing Space, whilst the smaller island-bubbles of slowly expanding space-time are referred to as universes. Collectively, it' all known as the multiverse.   The expansion of Billowing Space is driven by an inflaton field of massive vacuum energy, but this field is unstable. It's tendency is to decay to a lower vacuum energy state. Now, if Billowing Space wasn't expanding so rapidly then this entire field would eventually decay everywhere in the multiverse, releasing all its energy as mass-energy via resonance with other fields, such as the electromagnetic field (or whatever precursor fields existed prior to it). This would then halt or drastically slow its explosive expansion.   But Billowing Space expands at such an unimaginably large rate (again, it gets 10²⁶ times larger every trillionth of a second) that by the time the inflaton field starts to decay at a point in space, an enormous amount of new space-time is created by the expansion. The bubbles of decaying inflaton field are rapidly overwhelmed by the ever-expanding Billowing Space, and therefore can't expand quickly enough to touch each other and complete the decay of the entire field. Far too much space-time is created between them, preventing them from ever joining up.   These bubbles are what Rodinians mean when they say “universes”. They're bubbles of slowly expanding space-time adrift in the unimaginably vast ocean of Billowing Space, and at every moment an uncountable number of these bubbles of slowly expanding space-time pop into existence, created from points in space where the inflaton field decays to a lower vacuum energy state. As it decays, the field’s vast vacuum energy is converted into massive quantities of radiation and particles through resonance with other quantum fields, creating what's referred to as the “Big Bang”. The expansion of space at the point of decay drops drastically in proportion to this conversion of vaccuum energy to radiation and particles. The point of decaying inflaton field expands outwards at the speed of light, consuming any field beyond its decay "firewall", converting its vacuum energy to mass-energy. Within the expanding bubble of decayed inflation field, space-time expands at drastically reduced pace and gradually cools, allowing complex structures such as stars and galaxies to form. This marks the creation of a universe.   The Creator was believed to have designed the laws of physics within this local bubble, our little “universe”, at the moment it nucleated from a point of decaying inflaton field in Billowing Space. As the resulting laws of physics can be wildly different each time a new universe nucleates from Billowing Space, there's no gaurantee they will resemble anything close to our own. The laws are believed to have been constructed in such a way that they would be conducive to the formation of complex, intelligent life. Or at least, that’s what the Nadrakians themselves guessed.   Nothing else is known about the Creator for sure, such as what its nature is, where it comes from, why it created the universe the way it is, why it gave the Nadrakians the specific commandment it gave them, why it’s no longer around or where it went.   There was a spiritual power that descended from the Creator, and was usually referred to as Theosis. It was primarily found within Nadrakians and was what mainly set them apart from other species, giving them the ability to act as the universe’s peacekeepers. It made them immortal in the most literal sense – they were each fixed constructs in space-time and couldn't be destroyed.   Additionally, Theosis seemed to have no limitations on what it could do and seemingly had no rules. It included creating something from nothing, changing the past without invoking paradoxes, reversing events, altering the laws of physics, creating and destroying souls, divination of knowledge, clairvoyance and remote viewing, true Telepathy and many other things that were considered to be miraculous. Most Nadrakians could do a little of the above depending on their role, and some were more potent than others. At its most basic distillation, it was the power of “make reality what you want; do what you want”, but in truth no beings could come close to wielding it in such powerful fashion, aside from the Creator.  

Billowing Space

  The nature of Billowing Space's enormous expansion means that leaving the universe is guaranteed suicide. The moment one attempts to enter Billowing Space, all the particles in their body will be exploded apart as the space between them expands to be larger than our observable universe in mere moments.   Additionally, due to the unstable nature of the inflaton field within Billowing Space, any attempt to link the exit mouth of a wormhole to Billowing Space beyond our universe will trigger the decay of the inflaton field, as the wormhole will expose it to the lower, more stable vacuum energy of our own space-time. The decay will start at the mouth of the wormhole and spreading outwards into Billowing Space at light speed, spreading more of our universe into Billowing Space and causing an avalanche of energy and particle creation similar to Big Bang intensity as the field decays, annihilating nearly anything that tries to cross through. Even if you did survive crossing through however, it wouldn't be Billowing Space you'd be in, but instead more of our own native space-time.   It's not possible to reach the firewalls of our universe as it expands into Billowing Space. For one, the space as you approach these firewalls is close to the energies and temperatures of the Big Bang, which would annihilate almost anything that tries to get close. Secondly, there's still residual inflationary energy in the space very close to the firewalls, as the inflaton field is still decaying for a few brief moments after the firewall passes. This residual expansion greatly inflates the space immediately after the moving firewall, bloating it by several orders of magnitude in a fraction of a second very similar to the Big Bang expansion. This spreads out the new matter and energy created by the passing firewall, and is why the universe appears homogenous and isotropic even close to the firewalls. Anything that attempts to pass through this region of reduced expansion would be ripped apart by the inflation. The rate of this inflation also means that the firewalls are moving away at a relative speed greater than the speed of light, preventing anyone from ever reaching them.   If one could however leave the universe, you'd never get back. If you exited into Billowing Space one meter in front of the expanding firewall of our native space-time, then Billowing Space would create 10²⁶ meters of space between you and our universe in one trillionth of a second. You'd be lost, forever.
