Telepathy

The utter absurdity of the Rodinians doesn’t end with sobering overviews of their super-intelligence that would, for example, make one question whether it’s worth spending trillions on an expensive supercomputer or A.I. when they could pay for the services of a single Rodinian for a few hours or days to get better results.   Nor does it end with incredulous accounts of physical capability that require the involvement of high-energy physics to be fully understood. And it pushes beyond, further still, the shaping of matter, energy, space and time with psikinetics that must surely border on cheating the rules set down by whatever god set this cosmos in motion.   Now we are forced to deal with the fourth elephant in the room, or perhaps the circus, that is the exhibit on Rodinians and their capabilities. As if they weren’t already powerful enough, fate decided “Why not? Let’s see how ridiculous things can truly get before a single civilization breaks the entire universe...”, and then granted them the power of telepathy.    

Different forms of Telepathy

  It may first be useful to go over the different kinds of telepathy that one may encounter throughout the universe, including forms of empathy. Telepathy is defined as the ability to exchange information between two minds without using any of the brain's physical or classical sensory channels.   Most forms of telepathy in the cosmos are technically not true telepathy as they involve a physical component. These pseudo-telepathies basically fall into two categories: neural cybernetic implant enabled telepathy, and psikinetic enabled telepathy.    

Neural Cybernetic Implant Enabled Telepathy

  In neural cybernetic implant enabled telepathy, a device is implanted into the brain that measures the electrical activity of the neurons within the brain. It then heuristically maps this data to known concepts and experiences so that their thoughts can be converted into concepts outside the brain without the need for language. For example, if a person is shown a picture of a white cup, a red cup, the color white and the color red, the neural activity for each can be recorded and compared. The differences in neural activity between each one can then create mappings between these objects and their corresponding neural activity.   Concepts can be transmitted to other devices within other people’s brains, and those devices can perform the reverse operation of converting that concept into neural activity by stimulating their neurons. This way, the two brains communicate without speaking verbally or using other forms of physical communication.   This process is heuristic and involves the device “training” on the person’s thoughts for weeks or even months as it builds up a catalogue of mappings between what the person is thinking, and what it records them doing. It’s often inaccurate in the beginning, however accuracy improves with time.   Additionally, it’s quite dependent on the individual brain. The neural mappings created for one person are likely not going to be accurate for another within the same species, and will almost always fail when applied to a different species. So individual training is almost always required, and there’s no quick way to “import” currently existing mappings created from someone else’s neural activity into a new device.   Physical limitations still apply with regards to transmitting signals between the two devices just as any electrical or electromagnetic transmission would be; limitations such as interference, intervening objects, distance and relativity.   One further limitation is that it can’t interpret any thoughts that occur within the person’s soul. Physical measurement devices have no way to achieve this, and simply won’t be able to interpret any correlation between neural activity and physical experience.    

Psikinetic Enabled Telepathy

  The easiest way to understand this is where people use psikinetics to completely replace the need for physical devices.   With psikinetics, the soul directly measures and interprets neural activity within other brains to interpret thoughts and experiences. It can also directly stimulate neurons in other brains to impart experiences and information.   Psikinetics bypasses some physical limitations on transmission between the two brains and doesn’t require heuristic analysis of the person projecting the thought. However, it still requires study of the brain the person is projecting into. In other words, they need to know what neural activity in the other individual will correspond to specific experiences so that they can both read them and impart them.   The main advantage is that it’s more accurate in interpreting the exact neural states of a person’s brain with exceptional precision and resolution. Two people can train on each other very quickly by directly telling each other what they are thinking about and letting the other study the corresponding neural activation with near-molecular clarity.   Psikinetic telepathy is still limited in how it cannot peer into the soul. It can only measure brain states. It also still requires some degree of heuristic training and is limited by relativity.    

Spiritual Telepathy

  The telepathy used by Rodinians and Nadrakians is entirely different. This form of telepathy is considered true telepathy as it requires no heuristic training, can interpret what goes on within a soul, and has very few physical restrictions upon it.   Souls are formed from highly ordered nimata of condensed dyne, and these nimata act as both analogs to neurons within a brain (and can hence extend from the brain the act of thinking) and to store experience (memories, emotions, thoughts, knowledge, etc.).   Experience can be constructed within the Vita field from certain arrangements of these nimata, and this is universal among all souls. This is, in essence, a form of panpsychism where all experience is quantized and constructed from fundamental building blocks of dyne. Brains (that resonate with the Vita field to create and maintain souls within the Vita field), essentially create and interpret these constructions, and then translate these into neural activity that then controls the body and creates action within the physical world.   The previous attempts at telepathy have all been an attempt to read the language the brain uses to interpret the experience and thoughts within the soul – the real source of consciousness. They don’t, however, read the actual source. As brains each create their own unique neural ‘language’ to facilitate the transfer of experience between the physical and the spiritual, a lot of heuristic analysis is required.   With true telepathy, the soul of the Rodinian or Nadrakian reaches out into another soul and directly studies the construction of nimata to learn exactly what experiences are encoded. As they all share the same fundamental quantized building blocks, the experiences can be reconstructed and understood by the telepathic soul. No heuristic analysis is required, because all souls use the same building blocks to create experience.   Normally, souls cannot mix as dyne doesn’t mix. However, Nadrakian and Rodinian souls can bypass this due to being hypostatic unions that include the ousia of Theosis – that is, their souls are formed from the inseparable mixing of two or more different ousia. This gives their souls an extra dimensionality that can overcome the barrier between souls, thereby enabling true telepathy.   Imagine it like a three dimensional being that’s able to stand over a two-dimensional flatland and peer inside the structures the flatland creatures build. From the perspective of the two-dimensional flatlanders, they can’t see into their two-dimensional structures. The extra space dimension of the three-dimensional being however allows the three dimensional being to hover over the flatland and look down an axis of space not available to the flatlanders. Rodinian and Nadrakian souls are analogous in this sense, and bypass the barriers around souls to peer into them.    

Rodinian Telepathy

  As there’s no heuristics required, Rodinians can communicate with each other and with non-Rodinians immediately. The accuracy of their telepathy is always absolute, as the experiences of the soul are directly interpreted as opposed to being approximated by proxy of neural activity.   The transfer of knowledge is instant in the sense of being understood and comprehended instantly. There's no need to translate it with any mappings or language. Even emotions and thoughts never experienced before can be telepathically transferred and received (however this can be traumatic if too complex or alien for the receiving soul).   As communication takes place between souls in the Life Field, there’s no purely physical obstruction or physical source of interference that can block or interfere with it aside from extreme distortions in space-time. A Rodinian will be able to communicate through thousands of miles of solid rock with a being on the other side of a planet.   Black Holes and other types of extreme space-time deformations can still interfere with telepathy, and the event horizon of a black hole still prohibits any telepathic communication from within it. Telepathic “signals” also still travel at the speed of light and cannot exceed this under normal circumstances (their Mycoships can act as relays to send a Rodinian’s telepathy at FTL).   Rodinians (and Nadrakians), due to being on equal terms with each other, can control the boundaries of their souls and therefore retain their innermost privacy with each other. Non-Rodinians however, due to only possessing uni-potential (or First-Power) souls, can’t stop a Rodinian or Nadrakian entering their mind. They are totally at their mercy, unable to hide their thoughts, knowledge, emotions, intentions or experiences, and can be manipulated and controlled by remote telepathy.    

Communication

  Rodinians can exchange any experience with each other. This includes:    

• Knowledge: What the Rodinian knows, such as facts and information.
 
• Wisdom: How they view and understand the world, and how they feel about it.
 
• Sensory stimuli/memory: What their senses are currently feeding to them, as well as memories of past sensory stimuli.
 
• Thoughts and mental processing: What they are currently thinking, such as intentions, ambitions, desires, reasoning and logic.
 
• Memories: What the Rodinian can recall from past experiences.
 
• Emotions: How they currently feel.
 
• Sentiment: How they feel about other experiences such as knowledge, a memory, a person, a place, etc.
 
• Instincts: Base and primal impulses created by subconscious triggers.

  As mentioned above, the communication occurs at light speed, is interrupted only by extreme space-time deformations, is understood with no translation required, and is 100% accurate. Additionally, telepathic communication is infinitely compressible – all the information in a telepathic communication is compressed into a single instantaneous packet. Once the communication arrives, the entire message is immediately understood and there’s no time between any sort of beginning or end like with radio broadcasts.    

Inner-Self vs Exo-Self

  Whilst non-Rodinians have no way to shield their minds from the scrying minds of Rodinians, the same isn’t true between Rodinians themselves. Their souls have the same level of “dimensionality” due to being composed of the same spiritual potential, and so they can maintain barriers between each other.   Rodinians usually maintain at least one barrier in their minds which seals off their thoughts and retains the privacy of what they are thinking. Within this barrier they can keep whatever they wish private from the outside – any memories, thoughts, knowledge, emotions, sensory feeds, etc. This barrier can’t be penetrated without that Rodinian’s consent. This zone is referred to as the Inner-Self.   Beyond that is a zone of their mind and soul that they leave publicly viewable by other Rodinians. In here a Rodinian can place whatever they would like others to see. It can be information and knowledge that the Rodinian wants others to be aware of, or could be their emotional state, or even a sentiment. This zone is called the Exo-self.   Requests for telepathic communication are directed at a Rodinian’s Exo-Self, and telepathic communication occurs between two or more Exo-Selves as they read and modify each other to transfer experience.   Additional zones can be created within the Exo-Self if two or more Rodinians wish to have a private conversation they don’t want other Rodinians to see or hear. These are called Exclusion Zones. Multiple exclusion zones can be created within a single Exo-Self for different groups of Rodinians. For example, one exclusion zone where only that Rodinian’s close friends will see and hear thoughts, and one where only that Rodinian’s crewmembers or superiors will see and hear thoughts. This allows Rodinians to have multiple different private conversations going in their heads all at once with different groups or individuals.   With enough focus, it’s possible for Rodinians to know if communication is occurring between private exclusion zones in another Rodinian’s head that they aren’t privy to, however they cannot see their contents. They only know that signals are being sent. This is, however, difficult and requires a great deal of focus.    

Summary

  In summary, Rodinians shield their inner thoughts and everything they want to keep private behind an unbreakable barrier called the Inner-Self.   They maintain a publicly viewable part of their mind containing experiences they want to be publicly viewable.   One Rodinian sends a request to another Rodinian’s Exo-Self to start communicating. This can also be broadcast to multiple Rodinians. This request can either be ignored or accepted. If accepted, a conversation begins, and experiences can be exchanged. If it’s ignored, then the Rodinian who rejected the request will hear nothing other than future requests, which they can also block.   Groups of Rodinians can create Exclusion Zones within their Exo-Selfs that only they can access, allowing this group to communicate in private. With concentration, other Rodinians can sense this communication but can’t see its contents.   Rodinians that have initiated a conversation with each other will continue to hear one another’s telepathic voice and receive experiences from each other until they terminate the link. Likewise, Rodinians that are privy to each other's exclusion zones will continue to hear the voices of the group until they end the link or leave.   A Rodinian can interfere with another's attempt to communicate by messing with the signals, even blocking it if they are strong enough. This is considered extremely rude at best, and a crime at worst like gagging someone against their will.    

Consequences

 

Lack of Isolation

  Rodinians are never truly alone unless separated by huge distances where the speed of light becomes insufficiently fast. For example, a Rodinian on Earth and a Rodinian on Mars will still be able to talk to one another telepathically albeit with a lag time of about eight minutes between their thoughts. Amazingly, two Rodinians on opposite sides of the galaxy can theoretically still communicate with each other... if they are willing to suffer a lag time of about 250’000 years.   The only time they’d ever be completely isolated is if they fell into a black hole, as their telepathic signals would never escape. No Rodinian has ever been confirmed to have fallen into a black hole, however. Even they’re not that confident (In short, they would die; no ifs, no buts, no doubts. Mulched!).    

Real Time Gossip!

  Due to Rodinians creating exclusionary zones where they can chatter to their friends without others knowing, you never know if they are talking about you behind your back, whilst they are standing right in front of you. True, if you focus enough, you might be able to make out those subtle spikes in spiritual activity that indicate secret telepathy, but you can’t see the contents of those signals.      

Spying?

  A corollary of the directly above is that it's hard to know if a Rodinian has allowed another Rodinian or group of Rodinians access to one of their senses. In essence, they can create an exclusion zone around one of their senses so that other Rodinians can see, hear, smell, touch, etc. through that Rodinian’s senses.   This has important consequences for security, and those with access to information or activities considered sensitive are not allowed to possess any exclusion zones whilst they have access to sensitive material and must not place any sensitive material in their Exo-self in public view. It must all go within the impenetrable Inner-Self.   They are also usually monitored for unknown telepathic signaling by Rodinians specially trained in sniffing out moles and spies (called Scryers). Even though Scryers can’t see the contents of any telepathic signal that is sent from inside a Rodinian’s Inner-Self to some other Rodinian, they can see communication is inappropriately taking place and will intervene.      

Rodinians are like Mimes

  Due to telepathy being the default and preferred way for Rodinians to communicate, their spaces are abnormally quiet from the perspective of non-Rodinians.   Rodinians will hear the telepathic chatter of public Exo-Self conversations, but the non-telepathically aware will see a room full of people gesturing silently towards each other with body language, facial expressions, possible bioluminescence, pheromones, and other forms of physical communication. It would look like a room full of mimes and would be very odd indeed.   Verbal outbursts fuelled by strong emotions would occasionally still happen though, such as laughter, crying and arguments.      

If one Rodinian knows, they all know

  Quite self-explanatory. Among any group of Rodinians, word can spread extremely quickly. One Rodinian can send a thought to potentially dozens that are linked into shared exclusion zones, which can further spread from there.   Small groups can become aware of what happens to one Rodinian instantly, all at once. Larger groups can update one another in the order of microseconds. Planetary populations can take seconds to minutes, and the entirety of Rodinia usually has a viral spread time of about a few days.   This is how Rodinia managed to rule about 100 billion galaxies so effectively. Through their Mycoships propagating their telepathy using their FTL capabilities, their empire was almost always aware of what was occurring by using the very senses of their soldiers, governors and scouts who in turn spread the word rapidly up through the chain of command in moments. A Rodinian governor could update their local fleet command of a growing escalation in hostilities in real time, and moments later a handful of Rodinian peacekeepers would show up.
