antamacil
The traditional longsword of the elves is known as the antamacil. It is notable for its very long length and particularly long handle, where the handle make up about half the overall length. It has largely been replaced by more conventionally proportioned blades, and was never particularly popular, but was always important culturally. Its use originated in the fact that extremely long lever were needed to fight with cutting weapons underwater, but only achieved significant popularity on land. It is most popular amongst mages, as its length allows it to control large areas, well suited for creating space for symbols making. It also is effective from chariots, for the same reason.
