University of Petroka
Petroka University is one of the oldest universities across Duurn. It is located in the Kaisadroupolis metropole of the Republic of Kaisa. The original campus is located in Petroka dimos, though it has opened additional campuses and facilities across the city and even has a small campus in Chypos.
Until the late 1200s, the University of Petroka was focused on preparing young members of the aristocracy and land-owning classes for life in high society and government. It provided a broad eduction in the humanities, but it did not provide a practical education for most people in the modern era. In the late 1200s, numerous reforms turned it into an institution prepared to educate and produce new generations of professionals and managers.
Modern Petroka is split into 15 autonomous colleges and numerous departments, each with their own specialties. It is still considered a highly-prestigious university, though it has begun to open its doors to a wider range of students.
