Sanbeoul
Sanbeoul is the largest city in the Mutual Autonomies of the Tteokseo-Akmyeon Sea, located on Eulong Island. Its proximity to Teshoya and position along the main routes between Teshoya, Jideran, and Vieluesse made it the largest trading hub of the archipelago and a mixing point for the cultures of the Tteokseo-Akmyeon and beyond.
It was the site of one of the legation enclaves of the League Economic Territories and served as the headquarters for the Tetrukakloça League's and then Halaran colonization, before the Tteokseo-Akmyeon War of Liberation destroyed the Tuksuhakmyon Administration.
History
The early history of Sanbeoul places it as the seat of the Kingdom of Moran, an Angsari kingdom, in the 2nd century BCE. It grew throughout history, changing hands between various petty kingdoms of the region. Through its location on one of the larger islands of the archipelago and its proximity to both Ridbha and Teshoya, the city of Sanbeoul became a hub for trade between the two continents. It became the capital of the Yeuweomaet Kingdom in 759 CE, under which Sanbeoul grew and flourished. At the peak of Yeuweomaet's power in 996 CE, the Ridbhan Calamity struck. By 1050 CE, waves of refugees were fleeing through the archipelago during the Flight of Sorrow. The influx of tens of millions caused massive instability to form across the kingdom, and over the following two centuries, Yeuweomaet's territory shrunk. By 1300, their control was relegated to Eulong Island. In 1315 CE, Queen Seunghyun of Yeuweomaet allowed the Tetrukakloça League to establish a legation enclave in Sanbeoul. Through the enclave, the members of the League and foreign corporations exerted economic power over the city and operated with full extraterritoriality, stationing their own troops to enforce their order. Located in prime locations of the city, especially near aeroports, legation enclaves only allowed the establishment of businesses owned by League members, who often used locals as cheap labor, exacerbating the inequality and rampant poverty in the city. This came to a head in 1333, when a young teenager was shot and killed by Dusısiran marines stationed in the Sanbeoul legation enclave. The 1333 Legation Riots ensued, where angry locals besieged the enclave, burned foreign businesses, and attacked foreigners in the streets. Yeuweomaet police were unable to maintain order and in many cases even sided with the rioters, and the Tetrukakloça League sent in a military force to quell the uprising. The League forces cracked down hard, killing and injuring thousands of people.
