Ozer P1302

The Ozer Püy 1302 was the first mechanical machine gun, designed by Muhsin Ozer in 1302. It consists of a cluster of barrels rotated by a crank on the right-hand side of the breech and fed by a gravity hopper (much like a coffee mill). Each turn of the crank feeds, fires, and extracts a round. Small quantities were purchased by the Khahlanong Imperial Army and other militaries, and copies were developed in other parts of Duurn. The P1302 and models utilizing a similar design are often called "Ozer guns."   The 10-barreled P1302 was the classic Ozer gun used by the Imperial Army. It was mounted on a two-wheeled artillery carriage (560 lb. with gun) and came with a separate two-wheeled limber (840 lb.) holding 2,000 rounds in 50 magazines. Carriage and limber (which adds 6500 G to the gun's cost) were linked together and drawn by four horses. A 40-lb. tripod was offered (1800 G) but never gained popularity, despite allowing a single pack animal to carry both mount and gun. Some P1302 were made in the much larger 1" Ozer caliber, often used as mounted autocannons on aerostats. Those used on the ground often fired canister rounds.

The P1302 feeds from a detachable 40-round hopper magazine (8 lb.). It can also use a 400-round drum magazine (500 G, 60 lb). This is a circular cluster of 20 vertical, 20-round hoppers; after firing 20 rounds, the gunner has to rotate the drum manually to align the next cell with the feeder (Rotating the drum takes two Ready maneuvers -- or one, if an assistant does it. Installing a new drum takes 10 seconds.)   The original, six-barreled P1294 fired the .58 Tamuran rimfire cartridge. It was mounted on a two-wheeled wooden artillery carriage (450 lbs. with gun) and, with a 580-lb. limber holding 2,000 rounds, pulled by four horses. Very few were built, but a handful were purchased by Tetrukakloç Lastıs.   Several later variants were made, including the small, five-barreled Ozer-Teague P1305 Bloodhound and the 10-barreled Ozer-Teague P1311. Drizhni adopted a version of the P1302 chambered in 10.75x58mm Bovko. It was still in use by 1333. Hellissandur used similar weapons in .43 Hellissandric, while Lawuusmut purchased the P1302 in .43 Lawuusmut.

In 1303, the Khahlanong Imperial Army adopted a version made by Imperial Arms Manufacturing in .450 MSN-Ozer. Its 352-round drum has 16 vertical cells, each holding 22 rounds. A lighter, 240-round drum (50 lbs.) holds 16x15 rounds. The gun was mounted on a two-wheeled artillery carriage (444-lbs. with gun) and, with a 387-lb. empty limber, drawn by four horses.
