Frora Brotzina
The Frora Brotzina, or Bronze Guard, are the armed wing of the Stasipana Kampa Isostathiko (SKI). When the SKI was formed after the Kaisan Revolution of 1333, they were the target of violence during the White Terror that followed the revolution's defeat. Considering that the Etnofroura themselves participated in the attacks on party officials and organizers, the SKI certainly could not rely on them or the In response, a group primarily composed of military veterans formed. They named themselves after the muddy orange color common to miners coveralls, which became the uniform of the formation.
Members of the Frora Brotzina began to stand guard at rallies and marches of the SKI, and officers within the party were assigned bodyguards from their rank. Carrying firearms in public is strictly regulated, so most carried knives or clubs. Occasionally, members of the formation carried pistols, though these were typically kept concealed and rarely used. Combat between Frora Brotzina members and armed reactionaries became a frequent spectacle at SKI events. In 1344, as part of war powers legislation, the Symvouli banned all non-state armed formations, effectively rendering the Frora Brotzina illegal. However, they continued to operate underground, until the outbreak of the Daffodil Revolution.
Organization
Before the revolution, the Frora Brotzina was hardly a professional fighting force and was not organized as one. It was composed of squadrons of anywhere between ten to twenty workers, who elected their officer. The squadrons were then organized into regiments. These units were separated from the party hierarchy, so as to reduce culpability for their actions, but in practice the officers of each unit were accountable to the local party structure. Members of the guard were not paid, and most continued to work, alongside their duties to the guard. Erdem Bulut, the elected commander of the guard, has begun to expand and reorganize the Frora Brotzina, in preparation for revolution. Squadrons of ten to twenty are organized into companies of about one-hundred, which are in turn organized into regiments of about five-hundred. Two regiments form a battalion of about a thousand soldiers, and five battalions form a brigade of five-thousand. At each level, the soldiers elect their officers. However, Bulut has instated restrictions on eligibility for officer positions, based on seniority within the party and military experience. He has also instated the rule that officer elections may be vetoed by any officer higher in the chain of command. The influx of new recruits has led to concerns that the Frora Brotzina may become ideologically compromised, and to this end, the SKI has assigned two kommisara to each company, political officers tasked with ideological training of the unit. The kommisara do not have any authority of their own, but they report directly to the party and are separated from the hierarchy of the unit.Uniforms and Equipment
Prior to the ban on paramilitaries, the uniform of the Frora Brotzina was orange coveralls, like those worn by Kaisan miners, with a red square sewn onto the front. After the ban, members of the guard either went without a uniform or wore a bronze-colored scarf or armband. Following the start of the Daffodil Revolution, there has been an exponential increase in the size of the Frora Brotzina, which has made the procurement of uniform clothing and equipment almost impossible. Soldiers wear whatever clothing they have access to, oftentimes Kaisan army uniforms, with bronze scarves and armbands. Some units, mostly those assigned to political functions, have been given new uniforms with pale beige coveralls and a bronze beret. Most of the members of the Frora Brotzina are defectors from the Kaisan Army, bringing their own weapons and equipment with them. In some cases, entire units have defected, bringing spare equipment and supplies. However, the Frora Brotzina lacks a developed supply chain capable of handing their growth, and there are shortages of most equipment, including long arms. Some soldiers are still armed with pistols, and many units are tight on ammunition.
