Battle of Deculpa
The Battle of Deculpa was one of the most significant early battles of the Last War. It ended the quick battles of maneuver of the first weeks of the war and began the Battle of the Flanks that marked the start of the trench warfare that became the standard of the Last War.
After the Republic of Kaisa victory at the Battle of Liripo, forces under Stratigos Kranigos pursued the Imperial Jiderani Union troops through the Backwards March. They were caught off-guard by a counteroffensive from the IJU Fourth Army, but Kranigos ordered her forces to press forward. She miscalculated, overprotecting her right flank, which leaves her forces exposed to the IJU, and while they are able to halt the IJU Fourth Army, the Backwards March is ended.
Both forces entrench themselves and begin attempting to outmaneuver around each other, beginning the Battle of the Flanks.
