Ardhi Duaga

Ardhi duaga are communal assemblies used by the Bhents as organizational bodies. Historically, ardhi duaga served as regular social assemblies between various Bhent tribes and clans, where agreements were made and disputes were arbitrated. Khahlanong Hlusa Mfa attempted to suppress them, but following the Bhentcu Peasant Uprising, they experienced a resurgence. With a higher degree of autonomy, the ardhi duaga were brought back.   Between the eighth century and modern times, the ardhi duaga were begrudgingly permitted by Khahlanong, as any attempt to suppress them was met with fierce resistance. However, they remained largely separated and concerned primarily with matters specific to a particular locality. Further, as the region began to industrialize and cities began to develop, the ardhi duaga remained a primarily agrarian social structure.   As Khahlanong collapsed following the Red Week, the ardhi guaga became the organizational vehicle ofthe Bhentcu Revolution.
