Bhentcu Revolution
The Bhentcu Revolution was an uprising and martial conflict in the Khahlanong province of Njill Mnyof, during the collapse of Khahlanong's control following the Red Week.
In 1333, following the Red Week, the province was in chaos. The Bhent, already fiercely independent, were actively blocking access to their territory from agents of the empire. Strikes were spreading across the northern cities, and workers were beginning to seize their workplaces. The commander of the Njill Mnyof Provincial Guard, Mulufi Kimhlotul, decided that the governor was not doing enough to end the political chaos. She had the governor arrested and declared herself interrim governor.
On her orders, the Provincial Guard began rounding up dissidents. However, units of the Imperial Army, who were not under the command of Kimhlotul, saw her coup as a treasonous grab for power. They attempted to take her into custody, but the Provincial Guard fought back. With the provincial government and the Khahlanong imperial structure at war with itself, the Bhents were caught in the crossfire. Many were willing to listen to anyone who would offer a plan.
A libertarian current had existed within the national liberation movements of Khahlanong since the mid-1200s, and they emerged as the faction most prepared to take action and provide a solution to the problems facing the Bhents. Throughout meetings of the Bhent Ardhi Duaga in the 1320s, Amuwen Ganjuss became the face of the Bhent libertarian movement. In 1333, as the Provincial Guard under Kimhlotul rounded up revolutionaries and destroyed resistant villages, Ganjuss and other libertarians encouraged the creation of peasant militias and organized a guerilla campaign against Kimhlotul and the Imperial Army.
Kimhlotul's forces and the Khahlanong Imperial Army were vastly stronger than the revolutionary militias, but the two forces were preoccupied fighting one another. All the while, the libertarian militias grew, aided by Tehant. By 1335, the Provincial Guard under Kimhlotul had defeated the last of the Imperial Army, but the confederation of Ardhi Duaga had grown across Bhentcu. In 1336, a force commanded by Ganjuss attacked and captured the city of Linakorongo, the capital of Njill Mnyof. Kimhlotul and most of her army escaped the battle, but the loss of the city proved to be a deathblow. In the aftermath, much of Kimhlotul's force defected and fled. In the Month of Storm, 1336, the remnants of her army mutinied, capturing and delivering Kimhlotul to the Bhent militias.
The territory that was once Njill Mnyof became known as Dil Bhentcu, organized by federations of Ardhi Duaga, workers councils, and revolutionary militias.
