Jagmider

Arguably one of the most influential locations in The Blashpir Expanse, yet somehow remaining independent, Jagmider produces most high-quality weaponry and armors found on Serotonia. Dwarven families live and die in Jagmider's halls, fulfilling orders through blood, sweat, and steel. It's forges echo with embers hundreds of years old, alit by the original founders and maintained by Zonn Ettyr's sunlit powers. All of these working together form Jagmider-- the burrowing beauty of Serotonia.
The settlement was originally founded as a small collection of Zonn Ettyr deserters hoping to settle down in relative safety from their former sect's influence. The ground below, rich in iron and coal, provided the deserters with a means to supply themselves and established the settlement as a de facto trading post-- a place to exchange food and gold for high-quality weaponry. Traders visited regularly and brought with them plenty of peoples looking for work, expanding Jagmider's influence outward and its mines downward.
Now, Jagmider is a landmark for all rulers big and small. Whether it be a miner looking to offload their haul or a kingdom looking to reinforce it's army, Jagmider is Serotonia's premier producer of all things metal. No dwarf East of the divide hasn't heard of it's impressive-- albeit overexaggerated-- towering stone gates.

Demographics

Naturally, the populace of Jagmider is majority dwarven, as many families have settled within the halls and lived there for generations. Non-dwarven miners are usually there for short-term contract work, rarely choosing to stay underground for as long as the dwarves do-- though some have decided to stake their claim here, choosing to pursue shimmering riches rather than see the sunlight.

Defences

Putting Jagmider on the map, the mine's massive stone gates take advantage of a small cliffside to deny most unauthorized access to the mines within. A heavy stone slab acts as a drawbridge connecting the mines to the outside world, with thick steel chains able to retract the slab at any given moment. Behind these gates lies a more than hefty squadron of Jagmider's finest, wielding the sharpest and shiniest blades-- ready to defend the people of The Burrowing Beauty, above ground or below. Their Mithral armor sets are detailed with the same face-print design as the gate, swearing one's loyalty to the mines as soon as they don their breastplate.

Industry & Trade

The mountain rich in iron and coal, Jagmider makes a majority of its riches through forgery of armaments for all of the continent's major powers. As far up as the entrance and beyond, the sound of pickaxes finding their mark and hammers sharpening young blades can be heard clear as day. For items made from beyond iron and steel, materials must be imported from outside sources. Mines such as those found in Caldiin provide regular shipments of raw ore, to be refined and reforged in Jagmider. Less valuable, but no less important, is the stone hewn from the mountain's chambers. Pulleys and cranes lift impossibly heavy blocks of stone to the surface, sold in mass shipments to buyers far and wide. The income from stone pays for much of Jagmider's necessities, as they must import things such as food and clothing, and the income from weaponry lines the pockets of all parties involved in their creation.

Architecture

Hewn from and carved into the underground stone, Jagmider prides itself on it's winding and expansive underground halls. Chiseled gray beams support the weight of the world above and allow for large amounts of open space, in stark contrast to the cramped and claustrophobic mines deeper within.
Most impressive of all, however, is Jagmider's intricate and awe-inspiring central forge. Heat-treated stone stretches from floor to ceiling, powered by Zonn Ettyr magic and fed by Crumich fuels. Without this forge, the various industrial marvels produced by Jagmider's people would not be possible. The echoing halls would fall under a harsh chill, lacking a heating system to maintain habitability and comfort. It is truly the heart of the settlement.
