Session 5: More Hospital Exploration

Gideon fires a pistol, creating a massive chest wound in a creature, but it inexplicably survives, unsettling the group. The Anatomy of the Eternal Vessel tries to tempt Liam with promises of invulnerability, which he rejects. Valiteen lands a decisive shot, and Art is attacked but retaliates. Gideon claws another, causing significant damage. During the fight the creatures appear to heal themselves by absorbing metal. The party defeats the two strange creatures after a tense and brutal fight.   The party uncovers disturbing patient files revealing cruel experimental procedures aimed at creating “vessel candidates” who undergo torturous treatments blending technology and dark magic. These files hint at a shadowy organization called the Ascendant Fold and a facility named Resurgence Theta, which focus on augmenting humans with cybernetic and magical enhancements, often with fatal results. The party also discovers magical sigils and strange glowing circles, suggesting dark magical rituals within the hospital. They navigate locked doors requiring various key cards, attempt engineering checks to pick locks, and scavenge for supplies. The group copes with environmental hazards like toxic mold and a ceiling collapse.
