Reclaiming The Reach - Lore

Regions

Daure is a large world with many regions, but not all are relevant to the story we are telling. The following regions are the ones we will be focusing on, some more than others, and should be used to draw inspiration for where your character is from, and how they fit into the world.

  The Astorian Dominion - A powerful nation ravaged by a civil war that only survives because of slave labor.
The Astorian Republic - An abolutionist nation that declared indepenance several years ago and seeks to free it's neighbors from slavery.
Pateros - A struggling kingdom with historically weak leadership until very recently.
Valtora - A nation that lost everything in a bid to expand its influence into its neighboring country, now a nation of slaves as punishment for its attack.
Aurenia - A xenophobic kingdom of elves ruled by their long dead ancestors.
Thalindor - A dwarven stronghold that welcomes all cultures into its lands to foster open trade with its neighbors so that it can support the Empire in Nithe.
The Storm Peaks - The homeland of the orcs, recently taken from them by invading storm giants, the region is involved in a brutal war over the land.
Wildemarch - A fringe nation with no central government, instead ruled by nomadic tribes that hunt and raid for survival, afraid to sail out into the ocean for fear of sea monsters.
