Viscounty of Wildpeak

Winter Is Already Here

With Gruor the Wise ruling over it, the oldest provincial lord, it is a quaint little viscounty that most people will never visit due to the threat of freezing to death or getting mauled to death by a troll while camping. Not that tourism is a big industry in this world. Its territory consists of Anserrag Wood, the Chaos Plains and Lake of Dread, Frostwood, and the western part of the Moon Peaks. Its territory basically ends at the eastern tributary of the Telegarr River. The territory marked as white on the Ashlian map is the territory that is almost always covered in snow, no matter what. Now, it's not common to find a completely isolated dwarven village, but they do exist here. You'll be able to spot one from far away by seeing its unique architecture and that it is either built into the mountains or some other quaint little place. The people do really reflect the nature of the barony; they are all calm-mannered and respect nature, but they also tell nature to stay away from them and build long-lasting settlements. It's difficult to get food in the northern part of the barony, so they usually either keep livestock or raise plants that grow in colder conditions (usually placing them in caves), or they just get food imported to them from the rest of the kingdom.   As for the town itself, Wildpeak has plenty of stone buildings made to withstand the dragons' and giants' attacks, as well as it being surrounded by stone walls. Plenty of ancient dwarven architecture can be found in the old town, but most of the buildings are just museums or there for decoration purposes. They are not in good enough condition to be used. Its blacksmiths and alchemists are praised all over the country, and it is rumored that the catacombs underneath it hold quite a bit of treasure...

Major Exports
They usually produce a high amount of raw minerals from mining, so it's one of their biggest exports, as they usually have plenty left over. The citizens hunt plenty, too, and sometimes turn up very rare animal and monster trophies that they sell as luxuries. This leads to many animal products being sold, too.
Major Imports
They desperately need food imported from other provinces, especially crops. It is also far cheaper to simply buy weapons from other provinces, even though they usually have plenty of blacksmiths and bowyers.
