Martyrs of Salam

The culture of the Martyrs is one of fanatic devotion. They fight tooth and nail to eliminate the enemies of the Order of the Virgin —usually those who are thought to be a witch or enlightened. When not clearing houses of suspected witches, they are usually on patrol or found praying.

To kill the witches of the galaxy.

More troops than they truly know what to do with. Every soldier often wields a flame-based rifle, as well as flame-based swords and Pistols. They wear black and dark gray armour often confused for the soot from their weapons.

They have gained major ground with most of the sectors. Having a small garrison in just about every major town. They were involved in the Battle of Blackened Skies.

Purity of the Flame: The Martyrs believe in the cleansing power of fire, both literal and symbolic. They view fire as a purifying force that burns away impurities and sin. The flames they wield are seen as a manifestation of their devotion to purity and the eradication of corruption. Rejection of Magic: Magic, to the Martyrs, is a corrupting influence that defies the natural order. They believe that the misuse of magic has led to suffering and chaos within the sector. As such, they are vehemently opposed to any form of magic use and seek to eliminate it wherever it is found.   Sacrifice for Salvation: The Martyrs believe in the nobility of sacrifice. They are willing to lay down their lives to save the sector from the perceived dangers of magic and heresy. Martyrs view their sacrifices as a form of salvation, both for themselves and for the sector as a whole.   Zealotry in Action: Zealotry drives the Martyrs' actions. They are fervently devoted to their cause and will go to extreme lengths to achieve their goals. This can lead to fanatical behavior, as they believe that their mission is divinely ordained and just.   Unity in Faith: The Martyrs value unity among their ranks. They see themselves as a brotherhood bound by their shared beliefs and purpose. This unity allows them to act as a cohesive force against the perceived threats posed by magic and heresy.   Resistance to Corruption: The Martyrs are vigilant against corruption, both from external sources and within their own ranks. They see any deviation from their principles as a form of corruption and are quick to root it out.   Embrace of Martyrdom: Martyrs willingly face danger and martyrdom in the name of their cause. They believe that such sacrifices earn them favor in the eyes of their deity, Salam, and ensure a place in a better afterlife.   Authority of Leadership: The Martyrs respect and obey their leaders without question. Authority is derived from a perceived divine mandate, and leaders are seen as conduits for the will of their deity.   Atonement through Fire: Fire symbolizes both punishment and atonement in the Martyrs' faith. They believe that through the cleansing power of fire, they can atone for their own sins and the sins of the sector.   End of Heresy: The ultimate goal of the Martyrs is the eradication of magic and heresy. They believe that by eliminating these perceived threats, they can restore order and purity to the sector.   These tenets of faith drive the Martyrs of Salam in their quest to cleanse the sector of what they view as corruption and heresy, shaping their actions, decisions, and interactions with other factions.

This group is highly respected by "Civilized" society. It is rather easy for them to get what they want by telling the civilians who they are. It isn't uncommon for them to appear at the local leaders and the leader bends over backwards for them.
