Summer Reading plus Reflection
Reflection on Summer Camp
I cannot express how happy I am right now. I feel like I am on top of the world. These last two months have been amazing, full of love and creativity. I completed 32 of the prompts which gained me the Diamond batch (super cool huh), but most importantly, it gave me a whole island to work off and a bigger community to appreciate and learn from. For this summer camp, I decided to create a new place where my previous work have never been. That led me to Sradag Isle, a place where sound and conflict live hand to hand. I created a few characters, places within the isle, a couple of conflicts both inside and outside the isle, some species and more. I can say that I am 100% happy about my summer camp prompts and progress overall to the Comhlaidir world.
While SummerCamp was taking place, I was also traveling outside the USA. I went to Costa Rica (my birth country and one that I have not visited for 15 years) and boy oh boy did I have fun! It was a month long vacation and it helped me get inspired to write and read, and even explore. Now that I'm back, I've decided to become a Sage here on WA and to analyze what is going on internally with my world. I think for the next few months I will be focusing on the following things:
Re-read past articles and give them some love.Give a little more love and attention to my world's Meta!
Start practicing how to draw/paint (I'm terrible at it) because I want my articles to have art in them!
Be more active here and on other writing platforms.
Continue the story of my characters even when there are no challenges going on. I usually feel motivated to write just when I know there are others doing the same (a challenge) but some times I have ideas even on "quiet" months.
LEARN how to do CSS and make my articles prettier!!!!
Leaving Comhlaidir for a little bit, I have this crazy idea of writing a dystopian Costa Rica and I really want to start this project soon.
Articles that I read from fellow Anvilites
Greeting the Sun by Lady Leah is a cozy yet interesting article. It was extremely well written and by the end of it, I wanted to learn more about this world and about Joan!
Tale Beads by Jabzul is an amazing article talking about legacy and heritage. I loved how much tradition and detail there is in this article without the need to "overshare." I also liked how there is mention of dishonest people and their consequences.
The Threatening Valley by loid.de.gris is a very detailed article talking about a dangerous zone. I really liked how terribly bad things sounded if you end up there and I am glad that tourism is allowed because I want to visit.
The Blights by ZeusKoralius talks about a demon goddess and how she caused havoc. I liked the intensity of the article and how other characters are mentioned. I believe there is room for more lore that comes just from this article and I am all here for it!
Shimon Eterium by Sylver Shine is a good article! I'm not sure if the author translated the page or if it was Google, but I think it's great to be able to read the content in English as well as Spanish. I really enjoyed this article and all the achievements!
Polilluma by AmazingChi is a well throughout article with beautiful artwork. I really loved this article! It is well written and easy to follow.
Tumbuck Chim by magicthecasual is a good article with some humor in it. I really liked this article! I think that there is a lot of room to expand upon the idea of this article and create a deep rich lore about the events mentioned here. I really liked that a big rat guy (maybe) is mentioned.
Detroit Warden's Last Communication by The_Betrayer_Titan is a good document. I liked the document and how much desperation and determination there is. One thing I would suggest would be to write something on the body of the document either explaining a little bit (like an introduction) or pointing to where the document is. Otherwise, it is a great manifesto!
The Stonebound by Evilyn Carnate is a great article that touches on topics such as tradition, future generations, changes of power and recognition. I really enjoyed reading this article and I hope to learn more about the characters in the future.
The Council Tower is a good article by EbonxGaming with amazing architectural detail that I enjoyed to read. I think there is a lot of lore opportunity within this article alone to expand on the world.
I had more to share about each article but when I went to save it, not one of my comments were there. It is late here, so I am leaving them like this (I re did them). Please go read those articles! My commentary might not be the greatest but they for sure are.
