The Blights

The Demon Prince Viyana is the Goddess of Poison and has spent many long years holed up in her laboratory. One the occasion that she was pulled from her lab to travel with the Demon King and rest of the Princes, she still did not cease her experiments on both the ingredients and the laws of the world. Her experiments were sometimes so severe it lefts marks on the nature of the world itself. These marks became known as Blights. The blights warp and twist things in a way that is almost always unpredictable. The only thing that is the same is the magical signature these blights have.

Blights can cause sickness from young to old and can topple even the most healthy from just brushing something that is already infected with a blight. Blights can be in the ground, in the plants, in the animals and spreads like a plague, stealing all life in its incoherent path. It can leave something like a mummy or bloat it to beyond recognition. One of the worst blights was one that infected farms that fed several villages. This blight was subtle and did not show symptoms, as if it was lurking in the dark to spread further. Any who ate the infected flora found themselves grow progressively weaker until they inevitably wither away. At first it is just fatigue, then the fatigue grows deeper until one day one is not even able to lift themselves from their own bed. They grow weak and weary as their flesh sinks in and both their magic and their life is sapped away from then until they have no choice but for The Shepherd to lead them across the Veil.

One being who tracks down the blights and purifies them is The Radiant King, God of the Sun and God of Healing. He has a keen nose for things related to dark magic as well as enough knowledge and magic to both heal those affected by the blights and swiftly research the method to purify the blights.
